Really interesting through-line I did not expect for them to start building up in season 6 is how like… more neurodivergent-coded they’ve made Marinette? And not just in a oh she’s forgetful haha way but in the way that Marinette’s canonical internalized ableism and toxic positivity are lowkey devastating to her relationship with Adrien, because she sort of just does not understand his depression. Like in her mind if she ever stopped to think about an issue in her life it would immediately lead her to fucking collapsing into a ball of swirling emotion, so she just constantly has a project or goal to occupy her mind (because she has undiagnosed adhd and anxiety). So obviously she feels like the best way to help Adrien is to keep him on track, like helping him find a new hobby and passion and keeping his memory of his dad warm. But Adrien is just extra unreceptive to this because he is the most clinically depressed boy in the whole world.
