Currently, I'm now going to be focusing on running the second @throuple-tournament, feel free to check it out if you haven't already.
I will run more tournaments here in the future but I think what I'll do is run themed polycule tournaments instead of what I was doing originally. Some examples of what I'll run are obscure polycules, webcomic polycules, toxic polycules, etc.

So there's the idea of "kitchen table poly," AKA "everyone in the polycule needs to be able to sit at a kitchen table together and get along like friends."
One of my roommates just came up with a counter idea, which is "poker table poly." Everyone in the polycule must be enemies. No one is allowed to get too chummy or they're kicked out. They all also likely owe eachother money.

I want more polyamorous representation
I want polyamorous representation in media that is not a punchline, a cheating subplot, or a dramatic love triangle. I want stories where ethical non monogamy is shown for what it actually is. Consent based. Autonomy driven. Built on communication, boundaries, and emotional intelligence.
Most people still think polyamory is chaos or deception because the only time they see it on screen is when a writer needs conflict. Instead of showing real polyamory with honest conversations, relationship models that actually exist, and characters who navigate jealousy in healthy ways, we get triangles and cheating arcs that have nothing to do with ethical non monogamy.
I want characters who practice Relationship Anarchy or polyfidelity. I want media that understands what a polycule is. I want metamour relationships shown as supportive instead of hostile. I want consent and collaboration normalized. I want the same depth and nuance that monogamous relationships have been given for decades.
Representation shapes understanding. And right now, people only know the stereotypes media keeps feeding them. Imagine how many folks would feel seen, validated, or simply less confused if they saw polyamory done right on screen. Imagine how many damaging assumptions would disappear if writers actually researched ethical frameworks, listened to polyam creators, or reflected real experiences instead of tropes built on fear and misunderstanding.
Polyamory deserves visibility that is honest and human. Not sensationalized. Not framed as dysfunction. Just real people building intentional relationships rooted in choice and care. That is the representation I want.

In this forum, you can suggest your favorite example of this trope (which, mind you, doesn't have to be canon!) and then confirm which one is the most effective example of it. Any type of interspecies relationship can be suggested, whether it's between a human and an anthropomorphic creature or monster, or between two non-humans of different species, so fear not!

reason: (I haven’t finished the show at time of submitting, so uh… lol idk how i’ll feel later on) Early on in the show, they go to a festival together where it’s said that the couple who lights the first lantern will be blessed by a love goddess and stay together forever. The four of them light the first lantern together. Also Miaomiao just has really good chemistry with pretty much all three of them, and I will find any excuse to make all of my faves polyamorous lmao.
