I know he said there specifically Charon, and talked about Beverly being with Hermes (specifically as a trickery god). BUT. Hear me out. If someone is gonna break the rules, help mortals, and unapologetically walk from the underworld and back, is Hermes. So, a Hermes figure imediately appeared in my mind for him.

The flying sandals, of course, come from that. Helping run increible distances and be where no one would be able to be. Delivers in and out od the underworld with ease.

He lights the paths of the souls who are willing to do the travel back. The staff he carries have a snake, as the Asclepius', which represents medicine and healing, but also a lamp. Both because Spritel, and because on dark nights and distant places carrying a lamp on a staff was the difference in finding the way.

He also carries bubbles, trinkets, belts and bags, I like to imagine full of useful things to give the mortals he helps, and little mementos he gets from them.

Decided calling him god of the journey back, because, between some many other things in Eldermourne, doing the journey back was as important as doing the journey out. Something about cycles and the need of seeing the place you come from before fully been able to move forward. He helps others move forward. Find the way back to a safe home with the ones they love.
