She VERY clearly expressed her desire to live apart from them. She never told Feyre that she refused to see her and Elain (she even said they could always come and spend time with her), she just didn't want to be around the Inner Circle and there is absolutely no reason why she had to be, other than Feyre just wanted her to.

If Nesta was in such a bad state she had to be institutionalized by her family in a place she couldn't leave and have her choices taken away from her, she wasn't sane enough to consent to any intimacy and sex with Cassian either.

Let that sink in.

Because it was perfectly comfortable for him like that. Sure, maybe he was afraid that something would happen to Feyre. But he could have tried to stop her. He could have tried to get a job.

And don't get me wrong, if a disabled person decides that their disability is just too debilitating and they don't want to/can't work that's their prerogative. But not when you have children and no other way of caring for or providing for them. And there is certainly no excuse for the way he allowed Nesta to be groomed, allowed for Feyre to go out and hunt, and allowed them to become so bitter to each other in the cottage. I've been in poverty, I've lived in a very similar situation and you do fight and get frustrated, of course you do. The way the girls acted was completely normal if not toned down. But "Papa" Archeron? That moron is a waste of space

This fandom is so anti-child until it comes to using baby Nyx to shield Rhysand from any and all criticism regarding not telling Feyre the truth about her pregnancy.

Why a man essentially stripping a woman naked and parading her in a room full of strangers is hot.

Why a woman in her drugged state forced to grind up against a man is hot.

Why a woman being dressed up in the same clothes she was traumatised in and kneeling to a man is hot.

Why a woman sitting on a man’s lap and getting off in front of people who have zero interest in such shows is hot.

Why a man keeping secrets about a baby growing in a woman’s body is romantic.

Why a man locking a woman in an inescapable tower is romantic.

Why a man controlling what and when she eats is romantic.

Why a man forcing her into clothes she isn’t comfortable in and taking her to a place she won’t be comfortable at is romantic.

Why a man training a woman in a skill she has no interest in is caring. Or to the point she is so physically exhausted she passes out later.

Why a man laughing at a woman with bruises is fun and flirty.

Why a man having sex with a woman, who is forcefully isolated from society and hurting, under his supervision is hot.

Why a man punishing a woman for her issues with her sister is caring.

Why a man dragging a suicidal woman up a hill, isolating her even more, without even checking on her once is romantic or healthy.

Why a man pushing a woman to be vulnerable when he never did so ever with anyone is romantic.

I will never understand how Tamlin locking Feyre in the giant manor to prevent her from following him into an active war zone when she had severe ptsd and would have been a danger to herself and everyone around her was more triggering to her than Rhys putting a shield around her entire body making it impossible for her loved ones to even touch her.

Feyre is in one massive cage and yet because it’s Rhysand’s doing, it’s the best thing ever. Velaris is warded, their homes are warded, her body is warded.

And unlike what Tamlin did that was 100% temporary given a very specific circumstance that could have gotten people or herself killed, Feyre is caged by Rhys 24/7.

Interesting how we never hear about Feyre doing anything except paint as her hobbies. What happened to hunting for sport? What happened to visiting villages and stuff? Does she even leave Velaris alone or is she always accompanied by the Inner Circle in some capacity? Guards are still guards even if she calls them family now.

Hearing Feyre laugh about having a cage around her body so strong that even her scent can’t be detected and being like “Oh it’s just Rhys being silly” is actually kind of horrifying. She makes it pretty clear this is something Rhys insists on.

Let’s unpack that: he is speaking to a group of human women, representing the very group of people who were enslaved by fae for centuries, and when they bring up this long history of subjugation, torture, rape, and death, his response is to essentially say, “Well, both sides were bad.”

That is victim-blaming. That is revisionist history. That is colonialist rhetoric.

It’s no different than saying, “Well, the enslaved people fought back sometimes, so it wasn’t just the slavers who were wrong.” Rhysand, who wants to be painted as this morally enlightened, progressive High Lord, essentially minimizes the suffering of an entire species—the one his mate used to be a part of, no less—because acknowledging that the fae were uniquely cruel would be an inconvenient truth. He doesn’t show remorse. He doesn’t even offer an ounce of compassion.

Instead, he offers the oldest excuse in the book of abusers and empires: “It was mutual.”

No, it wasn’t. The fae were the enslavers. The humans were enslaved. Power imbalance matters. Scale and systems matter. And for Rhysand — who was alive during that time — to not only fail to acknowledge it, but dismiss it outright, is a massive moral failing.

What makes it worse is how it lines up with everything we’ve come to understand about how he views humans. Rhysand might love Feyre, but he doesn’t love humans. He doesn’t mourn their culture, their history, or what was taken from them. In fact, he only seems to acknowledge humans when it’s politically convenient (like trying to leverage Feyre’s mortal roots or the war). Otherwise, they’re an afterthought at best, disposable at worst.

And the fandom just…lets him get away with it.

There is no growth. No nuance. Just a man who calls himself “feminist” and “progressive” while upholding the very structures that oppressed entire peoples — and gaslighting them about it.

No, she was a terrible parent to Feyre, but that's because a twelve-year-old isn't supposed to step into the rule of parent.

All the reasons people hate Nesta for being a horrid sister are really roles the parents should have been fulfilling.

Nesta's cruel to Feyre? Feyre literally starts off the series sleeping with an engaged man. She doesn't have room to talk.

Nesta insults Feyre? All siblings do. Get over it.

Nesta called Feyre stinky? All siblings do. Get over it.

Nesta threatened to kill Feyre? All siblings do. Get over it.

Nesta never protected Feyre? At least she protected Elain. Who did Elain ever protect? No one. And it's not like Feyre ever protected Nesta either.

I swear Feyre stans don't have siblings because every sibling group I know has said far worse things to each other than Nesta has said to Feyre.

Warned her sister about a mercenary after being robbed by one

Hired a mercenary to escort her to the wall to try and rescue her sister

Sat in fear for months because she knew her sister was taken by a faerie

Protected her sister all night from suitors while her dad and other sister partied

Encouraged her to pursue love

Let faeries stay in her home after months of no contact with her sister

Sent a letter to mortal queens on sister’s behalf

Begged the queens to evacuate the humans because she’d calculated the number of ships required

Remained in the human world because her other sister chose dick over safety

Got forced into the cauldron despite her sister’s mate swearing they’d be protected

Got attacked in the sanctuary of the library in the safe haven of velaris

Tried to learn how to manage her magic in a week to protect the wall

Spent all night in the rain and mud lugging buckets and bandages around a war camp to help healers

Fought in a war

Killed the king

Watched her father’s neck be broken

Maybe she should have just killed some faeries with hate in her heart, dismantled an entire court’s stability, burnt a whole village, or sexually assaulted someone for months ✨
