Damn, this is the longest chapter yet in this novella.

Oooh! The water horse was a kelpie and they’re common in Autumn! No wonder Farron was able to calm it.

Dayton hesitating and wanting to do right by Farron instead of just jumping into sex 😭 They’re so sweet. I know this is the smut chapter but they feel so romantic and heartbreaking and it feels like true love being born right now than sex. Hell yeah, Dayton being a consent king! It’s really sweet that Dayton is more nervous than Farron in this moment. And Farron being the one to take initiative.

I will say that one thing that will never make me stop giggling is the emphasis that their dicks are apparently “so big”. The comparisons and adjectives used 😂 “Titanic erection” pffft.

The scene is still very hot though 🥵 Love these two so much.

Part of me is starting to wonder if the mating bond I suspect is only between Rosalina and the guys or if the guys are technically mates to each other as well because Farron compares his love of Dayton to mates. I wonder if they all are connected like a web.

Farron facts unlocked! He had to train in combat as a prince even though he prefers being a scholar and has found he likes dueling and long runs. I love knowing random facts about characters 🥰

I can’t stress enough about how much I love that Dayton checks in with Farron and gets consent during every act change. The way he does it shows how much care he’s giving Farron. They’re so in love, I love them for it. 💕

Farron imagining Dayton as his husband and gaining the courage to rule Autumn with Day by his side 😭 So sweet and heartbreaking knowing the future. I have so many questions about how Dayton ends up becoming High Prince of Summer.

Does Dayton realize Farron truly wants forever? I wish I could see Dayton’s thoughts in this moment.

Dayton’s smugness over tricking his brother and making sure Damocles doesn’t know he was right that Day and Fare would like each other is so funny. It’s adorable how rebellious he is just cause his brother is right about everything all the time.

The irony is Day keeping Farron his little secret feels like foreshadowing to their relationship not being allowed to fully bloom in the future.

Worldbuilding!!! So serenage is what they call it when fae aging slows, and how babies age like humans until this point and then by school age starts, I’m guessing around 4 maybe if we’re counting pre-school, they stay children for decades and teenagers for longer. I wonder if that means Dayton and Farron are about 100 minimum or more.

What is the Above?! Will we get more worldbuilding on that?

Dayton being scared of cursed water is funny given their future. 🤭 it’s also so obvious they’re absolutely into each other.

Finding out Farron was a virgin until he met Dayton is surprising but also not surprising to me. Hehe, his first kiss was a wooden dummy 🤣 My precious boy.

1. Something that might surprise your moots ab you

I hate slasher films and the ones that scared me as a kid, I still avoid like the plague. Too much gore makes me squeamish. I prefer classic gothic horror like Edgar Allan Poe.

2. Your favorite drink/soda

Iced matcha lattes with lavender cold foam are my favorite lately but they’re so expensive 😭 Other than that, classic milk tea with boba and/or egg custard and strawberry ramune.

3. A activity/hobby you do

Reading and writing. Mostly daydreaming about what I want to write. I’m pretty sure I have undiagnosed ADHD. I have a few fics I haven’t finished and things I want to write but haven’t started. And lots of books I haven’t finished. I’ve tried other hobbies but I can never finish what I start or it’s too expensive to continue. I tried crochet once. And I made bath salts with a kit from Brambleberry, that was fun. I used to do art but I need to reteach myself again.

As I type this, I am watching “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” by Disney. I’ve been going through classic Disney with my child.

5. A book you're reading

I’m currently reading Prince of the Arena from the Beasts of the Briar series. I absolutely love it. It’s so cute and I ship Dayton and Farron so hard.

6. Your favorite desert

Honestly cake and dark chocolate. I’ve really been craving red velvet cake lately. Cakes are also the best thing I know how to cook. 😉 🍰

Reverse harems/Why choose? hands down! It’s my favorite. I also noticed I have a weakness for friends to lovers. I don’t know if a trope I hate besides pregnancy tropes (Thanks SJM, this is your fault lol)

Wolves. I’ve loved wolves since I was a little kid. Something about them is just special to me. I like lots of animals but wolves I would say always. Ravens are a close second.

9. Fanfic idea you want to read/write

Honestly, I really want to read Beasts of the Briar fanfiction in general, but I especially want to read Keldarion/Ezryn smut. I’d love to write a Lucien x reader story. I started one but writers block.

10. Favorite animated movie/tv show

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Sailor Moon are definitely in the top 5. Both are very dear to my heart. Which is actually why I read ACOTAR and Crescent City because I was told they were inspired by those two works.

11. Surprising fictional crush

Kovu from Lion King 2. He was a childhood crush and I really want to find nice fanart of him as a human. Apparently Caspian from Beasts of the Briar is inspired by Kovu and I can’t wait to see how that plays out.

12. Book/Series you didn’t enjoy

I absolutely hated Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. I don’t like the annoying “not like other girls” trope, especially when the heroine talks down about other women. I also hate the fact that book perpetuated lies about corsets that have been disproven long ago. I’m tired of that trope. The heroine was annoying, the MMC was forgettable and the plot was predictable. I didn’t finish the series after book 1. I picked it up because I love the Victorian era and saw one of the books mention Dracula but yeah, not my thing.

I don’t get the whole thing to insult and belittle people who like a ship you don’t like. I always see anti-Brycriels calling Brycriel shippers delusional and hating on their headcanons. Whether it becomes canon end game or not, why can’t people just have their fun? This coming from someone who’s a multishipper and has no skin the game for hoping any ship becomes canon cause I prefer fanon over canon anyway. Literally who cares what people ship, let people have fun and stop being so rude.

If I had to believe in fated mates, I’d be me and the Beast of the Briar series. I’m only on book 1.5 but this has been the most perfect series for me so fan. I’m in love. Thank you Elizabeth Helen for writing this masterpiece! 💕

They are precious, I swear. I know I’m constantly saying this but ugh! Day is scaling the wall to get to that damned balcony. Also I find it funny that Farron keeps calling Dayton by his full name in his head. I love how Farron is being so snarky to him.

Oh… Farron… he knows Dayton’s charm is gonna hurt his heart. Seriously, Day? Secret dating just to screw your brother over? Sigh
