mikotos case is about how a regular person can be driven to the point of murder. there's a lot of emphasis on how normal and boring his life was until he one day snapped. what it seems like yamanaka was going for was how his circumstances pushed him into this one horrible moment that was so out of character for him that his mind blocked it out. but, like. by explicitly giving him DID (formed by work stress in adulthood) that manifests by an alter fronting for the first time and relieving stress by killing a ton of people its really hard to look at his case and not think "this is ableist". which is a shame because him being a system was a HUGE part of the first two trials but it doesnt seem like yamanaka wanted to write an interesting story revolving around DID. just one about japanese work culture.

I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.

if i can give our local far right losers anything its that jesus christ they know how to find stickers that are fucking impossible to peel off lamp posts. i have been standing here for 5 minutes trying to remove this stupid 'make britain great again' sticker and all ive maanged to do is slightly damage the corners. i have been bested by a sticker. im losing this fight. the queen of antifa is going to eject me from the polycule.
