do your wings kinda act as a parachute sometimes??
if i want them too! I can spread my wings to slow my decent and glide around, but generally it all depends on how my body is angled and what position my wings are in. I can just as easily use my wings to dive faster!
It does also depend a little bit on what bird my wings took the apperance and shape of, as many birds do have unique wing shapes built for different things (highspeed flying, long distance gliding, diving, etc), so sometimes that can dictate how well i can "glide" or "parachute" myself

during the beginning of some Hermitcraft seasons, you have to trudge up mountains to get somewhere, why couldn’t you fly?
my running theory (or at least how I interpret it) is that during the beginning of the seasons you have your wings bound until a certain point or episode. The reason is because avians have advantages when it comes to certain things. So having wings bound, either by being tied or with magic, makes everything fair for everyone.
eventually, probably by episode 3 or 4, your wings get unbound and you can just fly like normal again.
The bound wings idea is good! That is how a few other winged people handle it.
For some reason, mine are always clipped at the start of new Hermitcraft seasons. Im not entirely sure why, noone goes and cuts my wings; they're just like that for some odd reason.
I have to wait for my primary feathers to grow back, which takes anywhere from just a few weeks to months. Some sort of passive magic makes them regrow faster than normal around that time. I think the longest its lasted was season ten, but that was partly due to the fact i was neglecting them heavily for a good while.

I do love the nonsensical idea of Pan!Pearl being from the Life Series. The car, the craze, the hesitation to ally with Scott, the inclination to play like it's a fight to the death outside of the arena as well, the fierce idea of allyship that dips into family, the slight dismissive attitude towards the gods, the quick adjustment, familiarity, bloodlust, loyalty of a dog......
