In recent years, the supply of food has decreased precisely because of the ongoing illegal embargo and sanctions (and I will argue, unsuccessful and unecessary market reforms):

The blockade policy of the US against Cuba is only an example of sadism and punishment. They have not broken the resistance of the Cuban people or the inmense success of its socialist project, feeding, educating and healing the Cuban people, and even the rest of the world, as Cuban agriculture, medicine and social services are seen as an example all over the third world (and Cuba is one of the biggest producers of medicines, with their doctors employed all over the world in humanitarian causes)

What fascinates me is how this illustrates what they percieve as being in the realm of my 'power.' I control the food, I control the door, sure, but my cats love to sit on the balcony in the sun, and it has happened plenty of times that on a rainy day they come get me, go to the balcony and show me... the rain. "Please fix this" they say. "Please get rid of the wet"
