uhhh a lot of different anime!

i did think of "princess tutu" and nanao from "robot alchemic drive" first as i did want to do a red-haired character with freckles and someone generally warmhearted, but most of my direct inspiration design and personality-wise were mayumi kino and tetsu hayami from "blue submarine no. 6" (please please please watch it IT'S ONLY 4 EPISODES PLEASEEEE) lol

for context, "blue submarine no. 6" is a mech-adjacent anime where the 2 main characters co-pilot a giant mecha submarine named "no. 6" to fight off these man-made sea creatures in a world where everything is flooded by water by the same guy who made those sea creatures.

i will be completely honest, the similarities between "blue submarine no. 6" and our current lancer "no room for a wallflower" campaign were completely accidental. i didn't really expect her to really be in a similar situation/story when we got into wallflower, nor did i really expect her to be in a complicated relationship with psalm, who just apparently looks like tetsu hayami. oops

dani being an ex-smoker, a person with a missing tooth, and a mechanic were directly based off of those two

usually the pressure of recording while i draw tends to make me underperform, something something about disliking being perceived while i work on top of stressing my computer's limited memory and storage space

however, i very occasionally stream and i do post my wips if i'm happy with them on social media!

i use rebelle 7 pro for paintings and krita for sketches + animatics!

rebelle is a one-time paid art program that prides itself on being a traditional paint simulator! there's gravity settings, watercolor spreading, and paint impasto that can happen on the application, which is extremely fun for making textured illustrations

unfortunately, it's probably too late in this particular campaign to retroactively add siblings or any significant alive family members, but we can probably have a cajun uncle who she's convinced probably ate people before

i also like to think huc rangers emulate egregorian carapaces + wings through hoods, cloaks, and armor, but this is just a non-canon headcanon of mine

i didn't really put a lot of thought into dani's backstory, but i like to think that she's probably creole/cajun french, rather than mainland french. like most dying languages, she learned from the elderly and hasn't used the language in-game due to it being. relatively unused

me when i roleplay a character and have complete control over their decisions and personality:

in all seriousness, she probably does at this point, there's not a chance in hell she'd be able to parse that out loud though. but first, we have a fascist to kill so we don't got the time for all that rn
