You know a character is goated when the AO3 tags look like this
when your guardian angel quits 💧
This Star Trek fanfic by Paula Smith in 1973 is the origin of the term "Mary Sue"
Maru Sue DIED IN HER FIRST OUTING???
That usually happens to redshirts
#fandom history#if you hadn't've told me I would have assumed it was satire on the term#q
It is satire on the trend, the trend just didn't have a name yet. This story was so relatable to readers of endless wish fulfilment trek fanfics that it immediately became iconic and calling somebody's character Mary Sue became shorthand for "you're committing the mistakes satirised in A Trekkie's Tale".
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU CAN ENTER A SPACE
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
and so on and so forth
its fine i'll do the rest
YOU CAN ENTER A ROOM
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU CAN DO THAT TRANSACTION
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THE PHONE
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU KNOW WHAT SLEEP IS
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU KNOW HOW TO WAKE UP
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU KNOW HOW TO MOVE THROUGH SPACE
YOU ARE A REGULAR GUY
YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE YOU

today i overheard a girl say "no, f*ck that. i will be lovely to everyone. maybe some people will remember they have a heart."
Hey, hey, look me in the eyes when I tell you this okay? The whole "do trans women or trans men have it worse?" debate going on right now is the most obvious CIA bullshit on earth cause honestly we've both got it pretty shitty and fighting each other isn't helping anyone
@noodles-07 get peer reviewed
Ladies is it CIA propaganda to *check notes* describe the observable reality that trans women are materially disenfranchised more than trans men?
Is it CIA propaganda to be a feminist?
I think it's a fed goal to get us to split with this kind of discourse. How much does it like materially affect us to decide who has it worse. We're both being murdered and systematically oppressed. Irrespective of whether you're right if they're right I just don't see how it's productive for us to spend our time on "oh actually trans men have it easier than trans women." At the end of the day, Juniper Blessing was still stabbed 40 times in cold blood, and Brandon Teena was still raped and murdered. There's more important things than arguing about this stuff.
Just found out Dolly’s Imagination Library, which mailed free books to children, included books in braille so blind kids could read too
[ID: comment by stressicaleedmb
My son is completely blind and once a month until he was 5 we received a book in braille from her foundation and I wish I could explain to you what a big deal that is. Stores in public libraries do not include books with braille on it, but Dolly made sure that even children with visual impairment had access to reading. She truly did care about all people. What a loss!

Dolly Parton taught us that making it big doesn't mean you should forget where you came from. That it's good to be kind. That you should be unapologetically yourself, as loud and colourful and bright as you are, to not let anyone dull your shine.
Tim Curry taught us to be fucking weird. To take big swings that might not work out. To commit fully to the thing you're doing. To be unapologetically yourself, loud and odd and weird and silly, to not let anyone tell you who you are or who you should be.
Don't forget these lessons. Take them with you.
I was thinking about Dolly Parton and remembered something about her.
In 2020 I worked a job collecting medical record for insurance companies. It was Covid and there were many, many medical offices that were grieving and angry. It wasn't a fun job most of the time.
But one day I called a hospital in Tennessee. I was supposed to collect records for a NICU patient and their mama. I got to records and the woman in charge of records said there must be a mistake. They never worked with insurance with maternity or neonatal patients because of Dolly.
I asked what she meant and she told me, "Well, Miss Dolly has us send her the bills for any new mothers and their babies, especially if they spend time in the NICU. She never has anyone apply or anything, she just has us send her any bill for those families and she pays them, no matter how big."
I was stunned. I clarified, "Dolly? Dolly Parton?"
"Yes, ma'am! Dolly's been paying those bills since at least 1999 and so we just don't work with insurance here. It's why there's a mural of her in the maternity ward."
I cried harder that day than any other day during the height if the pandemic. For the first time that year it wasn't grief fueling my tears, it was a hope so deep that it hurt to contain it. When Dolly gave a million dollars for vaccine development I just nodded. Made sense to me. That's simply who she was. She saw a need and, if it was in her power, she met it. She loved humanity in a way that didn't require anything back. It was never a question of whether or not it was her responsibility, she just stepped forward and did what needed doing.
I loved Dolly Parton in the same way I loved Mr Rogers. Steve Irwin. Bob Ross. She shaped who I am with her kindness and she was a core part of my world for my entire life.
There has never been anyone like Dolly Parton before. It is my privilege to have lived in a world with her and I will do everything I can to make sure that there are plenty of people like her from here on.

I actually recommend everyone write for a rarepair once because it completely changes your relationship with fandom. Engagement stops being numbers and starts being names. You know who's going to show up. You recognize usernames. Someone disappears for a while and then comes back and you're like “OH MY GOD WELCOME HOME.” It's incredibly wholesome. It is also deeply inconvenient when all six of you simultaneously get writer's block-
It also forever ruins your relationship with people who enjoy popular ships ESPECIALLY if you find yourself suddenly in a massive fandom.
like if you think a ship that I do believe has over 15,000 works is a RAREPAIR I will personally end your bloodline and destroy all you hold dear. My favorite ship has ELEVEN works on ao3.
LIKES TO CHARGE REBLOGS TO CAST

hey don't cry. think about Blorbo struggling to get up, coughing up blood <3
Ranking & opinions on KATSEYE'S Wild album:
Unloveu - I didn't get the exclusive album, but I heard the song online and the vocals were HEAVENLYY!! Lara did so good making this song, I really hope there are other chances for KATSEYE members to produce their own songs!
Bel Air - I don't know why but when I heard this song, I fell in love with it! The vocals again, really good!
Animal - I really love the whole song and the "I'll be gone by morning" part is really satisfying. People say that the chorus choreo isnt great, but I think that Animal focuses more on their vocals so it's fine for me!
Hootie Frutti - I think that it's a really catchy song and I randomly sing it all the time. The ads in the mv tho 😭
That Way - Not my favorite but I still love it, it's really catchy too!
Pinky Up - I loved it when it came out but there are just better songs in this album.
These are all just my opinions and I think that this album served a lot of vocals, I loved that about it!
What do you think is the most underrated song on WILD?

PROJECT HAIL MARY 2026, dir. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller x
something I learned at CPR and first aid training yesterday: women are less likely to receive CPR in an emergency because people are apprehensive about their chest (boobs). also, the dummy we used was modeled after a man which certainly doesn't help this issue the instructor brought up
something interesting about entitlement to women's bodies being an element of patriarchy, but when their life is at risk suddenly they're untouchable
