our enbian experience

It came from “diamoric”, which describes the non-straight, non-same-gender but intrinsically queer nature of relationships involving a nonbinary person (or multiple nonbinary people).

So like, a relationship between a girl and an agender person is diamoric and the agender person is the girl’s diamour!

Or, an androgyne and a genderfluid person dating are diamours!

I got real pissed off with people constantly calling fictional relationships involving nonbinary characters "yuri" or "yaoi" (namely zooble and gangle) nothing inherently wrong with that, but it got to the point where that was ALL I would see. it felt like we were being erased. like that was everyone's default assumption. so I looked into nonbinary centered terms and found diamoric, which I love. I then later found enbian too. I resonate more with diamoric personally, but that really is just a preference and I think enbian is really fuckin cool.

I found out about the label when I started collecting terms. I liked the flag a lot (the moon one)

Although I still haven't really met any nonbinary people (outside of our system) IRL, I have two in-sys nonbinary QPPs that I like a lot :)

I don't really use enbian as one of my main labels at the moment, but I do like it.

Steve: I realized I was only interested in enben not long after I joined the system. I was trying to figure out my orientation and realized I wasn't interested in having a relationship with men or women. I just called myself astian (mln exclusively) at first before I started calling myself astian or cenelian depending on what gender I am at the time. Of course, it helped that even when We had some memory barriers, We shared general knowledge about certain things, especially labels.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't really have any feelings about enbian when I first started to use it because I use it as an umbrella term. However, I've felt a lot more connected to the term ever since I started this blog and looked a lot more into the enbian community.

People will simultaneously believe that-

1. Gay people can like non binary peolpe (and not be m spec), but striaght people and not sga peolpe can never like enbies under any circumstances, that’s misgendering!

Or

2. It’s wrong to treat non binary peolpe as women or men lite. Now with that said, I am going to treat nlw, wln, wlw as synonyms and do the same with nlm, mln and mlm. 

Or

3. It is wrong to forcibly exclude and gatekeep non binary people from mlm and wlw spaces, what we should do is forcibly include non binary people in mlm and wlw spaces.

And if your reading this and think, “what about non binary peoples own orientions?” “what about nlns?” “what about the fact that non binary people may fined your attraction to them misgendering, like binary trans people can?” then congratulations! 

I've pretty much always identified as bisexual, so there was not really a moment where I realized I was attracted to enben. I just am. I love my enban qp <3

At this point, I just feel like it’s my duty to use these terms as much as I can in my own life, I just need to expose as many people as I can to these terms, more people need to know.

i was very happy to learn that a) enbian doesn’t mean “attraction to nonbinary people only” b) contradictory labels exist.

(about contradictory labels, i didn’t think that it was wrong or something, i just didn’t think that it’s an option at all).
