Happy Nonbinary Awareness Week,
and belated International Nonbinary People's Day
Here's a reminder that we exist, there is no one way to be nonbinary, there is no "look" to being nonbinary,
This is the awareness week for everyone who isn't exclusively a binary man or binary woman.
Not all nonbinary people are transgender.
This is a reminder that exorsexism is prevalent even within our own communities. We are targets of bigotry just like other gender and sex variant folks.
This is a reminder that it is exorsexist to put down transneutral, agender, and null individuals.
It is exorsexist to make someone conform to a gender that they aren't, and obviously, that extends to people who are not gendered.
It is exorsexist to boil someones identity down from its complexity, multigendered people deserve respect for their Full identity, not just part(s) of it.
People who experience fluidity with their gender identity deserve respect for every identity they may be.
This is a reminder that it is exorsexist to put down xenogendered, xenic, and anyone who identifies with neo-identities.
Neopronouns deserve just as much respect as everything else, everyone has the right to be called what they want to be. Learning is not the end of the world.
(And yes, that involves it/its.)
Nonbinary people do not have to conform to sexuality specifically coined for them.
Nonbinary people have every right to use monosexual labels.
Nonbinary people have every right to use m-spec attraction labels.
and of course every right to just not use them at all!
Complete self identification is the goal, it is (as identity itself is) very personal of an experience.
It may not look like how you expect, it may not conform to the ideas you have about things,
That doesn't make it bad.
