Hey y’all I am currently desperately job hunting. But between bills, trying to keep our house a liveable temp in Oklahoma, and getting my kids what they need for school we’re drowning. $800 would get us out of the hole, but literally anything would help.

I have asked myself multiple times over the last decade whether I can navigate all of -this-... just as I am. Can I show up... like -this- and still somehow succeed? I still don't have the answer yet. But this recent experience with you all showed me that maybe... maybe it's possible.

My fear: having meltdowns in public, before strangers. Having my mental illnesses rear their heads and drive me mad close enough to others to have it impact them.

It's one thing to TELL people about it all. It's another for them to see it. To feel it.

When looking for the perfect photo set for the @creatingblackcharacters Melanin Beam Challenge, this scene stopped me in my tracks. There's so much love in this moment, and I wanted to capture as much of her father's adoration as I could.

My favorite detail is the waves in her father's hair, where the texture shows from being smoothed and pulled into his bun.
