This is apparently some sort of Chilean harvestman and itâs an incredible little monster with mighty bladed thighs and a xenomorph crest??
Realizing more and more that battle couples are just my thing. You got a battle couple? You got a pair of characters who could reasonably be interpreted as a battle couple? There the fuck am I.Â
Optimus & Megatron, sadly
Sass master Rooster, very angry while vets checked out his feathers
what if tobias learned to be very calm and unemotive not because raptors are so naturally dignified but because whenever his blood pressure went up he sounded like a fucking squeaktoy and marco would laugh at him
Iâm convinced that imprints have no bones in their necks

Shadow doing a huge rouse before flying đ
A rouse is when a bird puffs itself up and shakes. This throws off dirt from under their feathers. It also helps them to get their feathers in the right position before flying đ

The Shell Grotto is an underground passageway that was discovered in 1835 in Kent, England. Its winding corridors are adorned with a mosaic of over 4.6 million shells, and to this day, archaeologists have no idea what its purpose was.
the future looks crampedÂ
this all looks so comfy and soothing, oh wow.
southern screamers are really cool birds and they have huge spurs on their hands i just find it really neat
Apparently folks in South America have domesticated these beauties to use as watchdogs!
This was clearly meant to be lore for a fantasy RPG when some wires got crossed and it became real life
that is absolutely a wyvern.

Excellent wing reference here. Thereâs a lot going on here thatâs hard to identify in a fully-feathered adult wing.
Note the tendon running from the shoulder to the wrist. Thatâs the reason a birdâs elbow is not nearly as visible as a lot of artists tend to draw it.
Also note that the flight feathers stop at the elbow! This is the most wtf thing I ever learned. The feathers coming off the upper arm are just filler. The elbow is normally held close to the body to hide the gap.
These two things will make your wings 1000% better. And they apply to non-bird winged dinosaurs as well!

If it werenât for her shield, man, I donât know.
Inspired by various tumblr posts.
Humans quickly get a reputation among the interplanetry alliance and the reputation is this: when going somewhere dangerous, take a human.
Humans are tough. Humans can last days without food. Humans heal so fast they pierce holes in themselves or inject ink for fun. Humans will walk for days on broken bones in order to make it to safety. Humans will literally cut off bits of themselves if trapped by a disaster.
You would be amazed what humans will do to survive. Or to ensure the survival of others they feel responsible for.
Thatâs the other thing. Humans pack-bond, and they spill their pack-bonding instincts everywhere. Sure itâs weird when they talk sympathetically to broken spaceships or try to pet every lifeform that scans as non-toxic. Itâs even a little weird that just existing in the same place as them for long enough seems to make them care about you. But if youâre hurt, if youâre trapped, if you need someone to fetch help?
You really want a human.

Think your city doesnât like you? Youâre right.
From the article:
⌠Historically, landowners and city planners have kept sections of the population at bay by incorporating defensive design features into the architecture: spiked fences; barbed wire; a castle moat. In the 21st century, however, overt deterrents like these have given way to subtler features aimed at exerting social control, and keeping unwanted groups out.
âŚ
âThe term hostile architecture is newâor new in the popular vernacular anyway,â says James Petty, a freelance criminologist whose PhD research focuses on the ways in which society regulates homelessness. âBut practices of designing cities and urban landscapes in certain ways that favor certain groups of people and not others has been going on for a long time.â  [âŚ]

@adhesivesandscrap garden eels. Not actually eels. Theyâre about 18âł long and usually at least 2/3rds buried in the sand. If you see these at a public aquarium, people will absolutely say âare those worms?â and otherwise mistake them for non-fish.Â
Not actually eels, not really a garden but mer!Roddy can pretend XD
Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is an incredible sightseeing destination in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Australia. Due to the arid climate, it rains only a few times a year; however, when it does, tourists are treated to a rare and spectacular view - after each downpour, large quantities of water stream down from the top of the rock, creating the illusion of waterfalls.Â
