First time making LGBTQ+ Lock Screens :)
Please Like+Reblog if using them, Thankyouu!Ā
EDIT: OKAAY so I really didnāt expect this to get so many notes lmao, but I am really thankful of those who love these lock screens :)
for the people that think I excluded lesbians, please know that I did not. I am a lesbian myself, but in this I only usedĀ āGayā, and I also meant gay girls with this. please donāt think I am excluding people, I just decided to make āonly 6ā² for now. so if you have any requests for other lock screens I should make, tell me in the comments :D
<3
Popping on real fast to say thank you for all of the support Iāve received on my posts, I seriously appreciate and itās made my day many times nowĀ ā¤ļø Thanks a bunch <33
Oof
My activity has been quite low lately. Not much going on to speak about besides one thing really. Please stop excusing the R word. I donāt care who you are. If you donāt have at least 1 neurological developmental disorder do not fucking use it. You wouldnāt excuse a straight, cisgender person using LGBT slurs, and you wouldnāt excuse a white person saying the N word so why are us disabled people different? Iām really sick of seeing it. Yeah Iāll use the word Iām autistic, have ADHD and touretteās. Donāt deny me the use of that word just because I told you, a neurotypical person not to use it. People are dumb, and itās infuriating.

Is it too much to ask
ALL I want is to live in early 19th century korea and wear pretty hanboks and live in pretty houses and sneak into the palace and overthrow the government and be a cool ruler who hangs out with the village people and holds parties inside the castle for the lower class and fall in love with one of the village people and give them a lavish life but ultimately have my heart broken because they want to return back to the life they had before but weāre still in love and meet in secret sometimes.
āOh well youāre high functioning so itās not a big deal right?ā
Imagine telling someone not to complain about a broken arm because some people are in full body cast. Imagine telling someone with the flu not to seek treatment because some people have cancer. Imagine telling someone who survived an attempted murder not to report it because they were still alive. Functioning labels are harmful. no matter how you use them. Whether itāsĀ āMild autismā, orĀ āHigh-Functioning Autisticā. These labels imply that we function just fine and need no support, weāre just like everyone else right? I had no idea you were autistic because you mask so I donāt need to accommodate your needs right? Yes. I can communicate with my words. I can have a job. I can go to school. I can form relationships with people. I can buy a house, or rent an apartment. But I canāt deal with lots of loud noises. I canāt touch certain items because it upsets me so severely. I canāt understand certain social cues. I donāt know when to stop talking. I canāt go to the store without some sort of sensory blocker. I need stim toys, or to be able to stim or Iāll have a meltdown. I have meltdowns quite frequently.Ā While I can go to school I need a specialized version of education.Ā While I can form relationships with people I struggle to keep them. While I can get a job I need āspecial treatmentā if I want to do it properly. While I can communicate with my words sometimes I canāt. TheĀ āhigh-functioningā label I often get applied to me, is harmful. I donāt haveĀ āmild autismā. Iām just autistic. plain, and simple.
marmot appreciation post bc they have no business being so adorable
edited-to-be-less-angry touretteās psa:
- donāt!! tell someone who is obviously dealing with tics or compulsions to stop or that theyre crazy or stupid or a twitchy freak or stare at them or make them feel uncomfortable. like i promise i Know i look weird. itās p common to have anxiety abt vocal and motor and facial tics and how people notice and look. but i cant help it & i cant stop it any more than you can stop swallowing! while itās possible to temporarily suppress tics, itās uncomfortable and borderline painful sometimes and itās unfair and often impossible for someone to suppress them for hours
- please donāt refer to tourettes a mental illness!!!!!! its a neurological disorder, as in a permanent and inborn alteration to the brain. also: its not temporary; its a disability. telling someone theyāll āget over itā or talking about ārecoveryā or a ācureā is similar to telling someone born without an arm that itāll āgrow backā. my brain is physically different to yours; itās not a psychological thing. (edit to clarify: this isnāt meant to imply that mental illnesses all have cures/recovery, or arent disabilities! they can be just as permanent and affect people just as much as any neurological disorder)
- hooooo boy if someone tells you they have tourettes dont say theyre āmaking it upā or āfaking itā because they dont have a swearing tic. coprolalia (compulsive swearing) affects a tiny minority of people with tourettes? donāt you ever think you know more about how someone elseās brain works and let alone tell them that they canāt be some way because of a damn stereotype!!!
- āoh wow you have tourettes? do you know lots of tourettes people then? i think x has tourettes bc of (nervous tic like playing w their hair/person likes to swear/stupid habit thats obviously not a tic) what do you think?ā NO!!!!! often people have never met anyone else with tourettes. iāve been advised against seeking a support group because of the high likelihood that iāll adopt tics from other people there (which is a real and very annoying thing) and i know others have too. itās pretty common to be isolated with tourettes. and im not going to diagnose someone else with a damn neurological disorder because youāve noticed a nervous tic or some habit they have or because they have a potty mouth. thatās pretty out of line.
- ā(overly sympathetic, pitying voice) oh wow this must be hard for you!! iām so sorry!ā this one is more annoying than anything ??? like. like yes it sucks sometimes but i guess it also sucks that people have to like. sneeze? or cough? or swallow or blink? i and others (typically) donāt want your pity. iām used to this. yeh, iāll complain about my speech being interrupted or a sore back etc from tics, but. this is how i live. if i wanted pity iād ask for it!!! (this is also often accompanied with an āi hope you get over it soon!ā which genuinely is infuriating though)
anyway @ any tourettes people (or other tic disorder people!!) i love u and ur tics and i hope youre never made to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable or isolated. youre rad as hell!!
note - i edited this to be less personal and less aggressive, so iād appreciate if you could reblog this version instead of the previous one!! & if you have any touretteās-related questions, my askbox is always open.
Make it make seNse
I get that I donāt get to decide my tics but the least they could do is be funnyĀ

Why Person First Language Is Stupid.
Allow me to begin this by saying that if you choose to use person first language for yourself you are not a bad person orĀ āwrongā.
What I say in this blog does not make your personal decisions invalid. Do what makes you happy.Ā Person First Language (which Iāll shorten to PFL later on to make things simpler) Is an idea LARGELY endorsed by neurotypicals, and not autistic individuals. let me explain why this is a problem. The autistic community is one that has been ignored when it comes to their issues for millenia. Autism speaks being a great example, their organization claims to exist to help the autistic population, but no one higher up in their ranks actually is autistic.Ā When a community is ignored on their own issues this creates discomfort for us. Our voices are extremely important when making decisions for us!Ā So like I said, the people you see enforcing and promoting PFL are usually not autistic.Ā The idea is to separate autistic individuals from their disability because theyāreĀ āmore than their disabilityā. which comes from a loving place, but is ableist in nature. While we are more than just autistic, autism shapes the way we live, the way we make decisions, It decides how we function, It influences our relationships, every single facet of our lives are influenced by our autism. I made a bold claim by saying PFL can come off as ableist.Ā This is because It implies that autism is something we need to separate ourselves from. That itās something we donāt want to be associated with. Now what are things you donāt usually want to be associated with? For me, the first thing that comes to mind is, Things like racism, Homophobia, or general hatefulness, and having those dirty words attached to me. So, Is autistic a dirty word?Ā
Obviously, the answer to that question is no. So why is PFL necessary? Why is it so important that we arenāt associated with the word autism? PFL comes from a good place. The intentions are true, But it is not something that needs to be enforced on people. When I say Iām autistic, I donāt want to hear someone tell meĀ āoh no, no, youāre a person with autism.ā because that takes away from the significance it holds in my life. If you are autistic and want to use PFL please go right ahead. but to my neurotypicals, please stop getting upset when someone doesnāt use it. This was very long Iām sorry lmao but thank you so much for reading this far <3
