I thought: As an autistic I have to decode a lot for what people mean.
What I said instead: Like Animal Farm. It's about animals, but it's not just about animals.
The teacher said it was a good example. He is Russian and assigned Roadside Picnic for a project's inspo. Dystopias are one of my special interests. We're gonna get along well.
I did tell him first day that I'm autistic and I'll ask for clarification.

I don't think that everybody is autistic, and I don't even think that "everybody is a little autistic", but I do think that there are normal human behaviors that get pathologized as being symptoms of autism.
Like, "Autistic people often engage in elopement, where they will physically leave the area if they feel they are unsafe." As opposed to allistic people, who, when confronted with a threatening or unpleasant experience, stay fixed in place and simply choose not to react to any stimuli, as though they were a sea sponge or piece of coral.
"Autistic people have pathological demand avoidance, and will opt not to engage in tasks that they have specifically been told to do." As opposed to allistic people, who enjoy being told to do stupid and meaningless shit by their pissant boss, and they love doing it, and if they were told to individually move a hundred million grains of sand from the north shore to the south shore would do so unquestioningly.
