The Tell-Tale Heart, chiefly because my 6th grade teacher, a frustrated former theater major, did a dramatic reading (different voices and everything) so effective that it really put a damper on the Halloween party. just imagine a classroom full of traumatized children exchanging candy in near silence

#but he was so sweet he actually apologized for being too good at acting lol #and also something in my little baby brain heard those words and knew Edgar Allen Poe had brushed the edge of madness like for real #Which was v scary and effective #I LOVED it
