This really has shaped the way I interact with fandom. Cause no matter the fandom, no matter the character, the medium, etc…racism always seems to pop up at some point. And I’m so grateful that we manage to carve out spaces for ourselves and that I can always find a community of us within the fandom that I can feel safe enough to exist in.

They literally just redid this in the Mean Girls remake. They changed a lot of other things like dropping Coach being into teenagers, but they kept the "Make the tomboy feminine" trope in the last movie.

I would love to see a makeover montage where at the big reveal, instead of suddenly wearing a dress and losing their glasses, they just look like an upgraded version of themselves. I want you to go from baby high school punk to looking like you were styled by Rick Owens. Let’s really lean into it.

For 4 years I woke up at 6 am, at least (I took the bus and for a year or two it came between 6:40 and 6:50). Morning showerers, or people who put effort into their hair or makeup, probably had to wake up even earlier. Then we all went to school and sat in a health class where our gym teacher told us that teenagers are supposed to get 10 hours of sleep a night. Genuinely implying that we were supposed to go to sleep at 8pm if we cared about our health. The dissonance made my head spin. I haven’t been in high school for years and I’m still mad about it. Maybe even more mad

And they say it’s to prepare you for college and work life. But in college you can choose your schedule, so you can choose to take late morning classes to let yourself sleep, or choose to have your day end early. And when you work, you get to clock out. Do I have to wake up at 6am now, yes. But at 5:00pm Im out the door and I don’t bring work home. I have the evening and the weekend to rest instead of study and do homework.

I’m still so taken aback by people in the notes who claimed you need to be talking to people weekly or even daily to consider them your friend. how many people do you know? As an adult I feel like talking every day is sustainable with one person maybe 2 or 3 if your circumstances somehow are really conveniently aligned. yeah there’s people I talk to often there’s also people I don’t talk to for 6 months because there’s no way we’ll be able to coordinate time and energy and I still consider them my friends because this is real life and there isn’t a stardew valley esque hearts system based off of how many interactions we had this month

just fyi by the time youre in your 30s, most of the people you would call to help you cover up a murder are the people you text about twice a year. it's specifically because you can maintain the relationship on two texts a year that they are your closest friends. the reason everyone's interpersonal relationships are so unstable in your teens is because everyone's "best friends" are almost entirely circumstantial. you won't actually know which of those people are in for the long haul until the relationships have been stress tested by distance, conflict and silence.

This is so odd to me, as I have friends I see on a weekly basis, and then- it occurred to me, we do D&D/TTRPGs. One of the spouses of the group pointed out that, it seems like the tabletop gamers are the only ones who regularly have in person meetups, but I think that's the power of tabletop gaming. Yes, life absolutely gets in the way, but it forces us to find an hour or two a week where we can regularly squeeze in some dungeon crawling. Makes a lot of difference.

This is absolutely one of the reasons TTRPGs are so life changing for me. My social life is on a solid bedrock because I see some of my most favorite people every week to have fun together.

This is kind of me with concerts. I have the few friends I see/talk to everyday and then the ones I don’t see every day I always see at least once or twice a month at a concert. The second someone we listen to announces a tour we immediately textin each other tryin to figure out who’s buying the tickets.

there’s something so legitimately sinister about the way that people painted megan to be a villain in a situation where SHE was shot, continued to harass her and spread misinformation about her before AND AFTER that napoleon-complex having, height-challenged motherfucker was sent to prison, joked about her struggling with alcoholism after she lost her mother and grandmother in the same month, pushed her to nearly killing herself, made jokes about her parents being dead and then threatened to desecrate her mother’s grave over a pink-haired crackhead who wouldn’t even piss on y’all if y’all were on fire, and are now actively spreading deepfake AI porn of her — just to turn around and say she’s “begging for sympathy” ??? as if y’all haven’t done shit but consistently victimize this woman for the past four years??? are y’all fucking insane???

It’s honestly evil because there are so many publicly awful celebrities that don’t get a fraction of the hate that she does. I genuinely feel like people are trying to break her and put her in a grave and for what…? Fighting back against an abused who shot her and some fucking delusion riddled stan war?! It’s genuinely insane and honestly kind of frightening to see the awful shit people say and spread around about her.
