is tumblr's demographic overwhelmingly asexual or is it just the people I tend to follow?
does being annoying ever stop feeling like a crime that should be punished by being banished from civilization
i grew up both in Central europe and the same part of Canada as Hudson Williams (we went to the same college, not quite at the same time, but we aren't very far apart in age) and casual antisemitism was very common growing up. people there are not connected to the history and I remember that it was all just a joke to them. I doubt he really thought much of it, based on how little everyone at the schools I attended thought of things like that. the amount of "how many Jews can you fit in an oven" jokes i was subjected to by peers at school because all the Canadian children were watching South Park and family guy was almost impressive in hindsight, and then when we got older that history continued to just be part of edgy jokes, because of how detached it was from most people's reality. Hitler was just a comedy figure to a lot of them at that time, and that continued probably to the end of secondary school at least. it was an immigrant community and it felt as if nobody really had context for anyone else's history, and even when they did might still have been detached. not a defence or a condemnation, I don't know or care about him and i don't care about hockey, but I thought this context might be useful
thank you for explaing<3
it does add context yeah i think holocaust/nazi jokes are a lot more frowned upon where i live,,,,
not that that really makes it better or anything
requesting the private ig accs from people i used to be internet friends with and havenât spoken to since 2019 do you think theyâll accept it

t shirt that says I PUT A NORMAL AMOUNT OF THOUGHT INTO STUFF
ohh my god but what if there is still time. what if there is still time. hey. there is still time? there is still time. have you heard. there is still time. hi. there is still time. did you know. there is still time.
making the hostage situation very awkward by enthusiastically asking for the gun to be in my mouth during the ransom video
I love tumblr because somehow I can end up being mutuals with a celebrity (someone that wrote a fic that I loved)
So the thing about other people having the swastika at that party isn't true - this was an annual party tradition for his school's whole graduating class and another photo of someone else with a swastika making the rounds was from a different, later year.
He probably would have been able to tell if someone drew a Hitler moustache, that one is very distinctive, but that wasn't on him. I too have never had a swastika drawn on me so can't say whether or not I'd be able to tell lol, but I don't think it's distinctive enough that I would.
Re not knowing the photo was still online I've seen a few people say this, but the photo found wasn't uploaded from one of his known friends. Basically the people who were trying to dig up dirt on him looked up everyone in his graduating class and this was from someone who uploaded a big photo dump with loads of pictures including this singular one of Hudson. It wasn't a party of his close friends group, it was a big outdoor party of his entire graduating class so like...I think it's pretty easy to imagine he didn't know this photo was part of a mass upload nearly ten years ago.
The photo existing is also kind of irrelevant really, to me it feels like the questions are: Did he want a swastika drawn on him? Do people actually think he's a Nazi? Do people really think somebody else doing something to him back when he was a teenager justifies the hate frenzy and people saying they won't stop till he kills himself. Personally I think the answer to all three of those is probably no, but others may feel differently!
literally where did i say he should kill himself that is so not the conversation i was having.
people being so desperate to defend hate symbols is just so weird, idec about the actual photo that much itâs more the entire reaction to it that i think is incredibly insensitive.
you can acknowledge that seeing that photo does cause hurt to people affected by racism antisemitism without saying hudson williams is a racist neo nazi who deserves to die.
itâs also just really not that hard to not associate with people that are racist/think drawing nazi symbols is funny. and i do think letting someone draw on your face is a sign he might not have tried very hard to not engage with those people.
i have said this before, i donât think hudson williams is racist or supports nazi ideology i just wish they were handling the situation better.

I went to a school that the similar tradition of drawing on peopleâs faces/shirts. Iâm a POC and most of my classmates were white. The whole class went to the woods at night to party, like Hudson and his class. Someone wrote a slur on the back of my shirt without me knowing. No one pointed it out to me and I didnât find it till I went home. Most people didnât look at what was being written on them so I donât totally blame my friends for not pointing it out to me and it was dark. This sort of thing is very common - Iâve seen other POC and queer people sharing their experiences about this exact type of thing on here. Thatâs the whole joke for these white people, they write or draw something offensive in a place you wonât notice.
iâm sorry this happened to you thatâs awful.
i donât mean to take away from your experience but i think it literally being ON HIS FORHEAD is different than the back of your shirt. not a single one of his friends noticed there was one of the biggest symbols of hate on his face?
idek i also wouldnât just let random people draw on my face, shirt sure if its that kind of event or whatever,,, i just think itâs unlikely he didnât know
and even if he only found out later, i still think itâs weird to not care that a picture of you ridiculing it and/or showing sympathy with nazis is on the internet for everyone to see.
Even if he was passed out and didnât in that moment know what was being drawn on him there is zero way he didnât know when he went to clean it off. Not to mention there is no way he didnât see the photos in almost a decade since. Such a stupid excuse
yes exactly!! i think itâs super unlikely he didnât know and i think especially if your in the time public eye you do have a responsibility of what you represent and maybe you should make sure there is no pictures of you repping hate symbols for all the world to see
Except people were drawing loads of things on his face right? Unless you regularly have a swastika drawn on your face I'm just not sure its unreasonable for someone not to be able to know what that feels like. Like obviously he knew his face was being drawn on lol, but by touch alone is it normal for someone to be able to tell a swastika versus the other things drawn on there? Genuine question, because I don't think I could tell, but maybe others do know what a swastika feels like by pen trace alone.
itâs a very simple shape tho? i think itâs possible you would know but ive also never had a swastika drawn on my face so who knows.
also there were other people there with swastikas/hitler moustaches drawn on them,,,,, i donât think itâs unreasonable to assume he knew it was there, either in the moment or at least after? and then why wouldnât you care there is pictures of you with it online?
there is no way you donât notice someone drawing a swastika on your forhead unless youâre passed out or something bsfr
