D4. The ancient Egyptians knew what was up: Pyramids are a venerable shape.  The numbers are too low to be truly exciting when rolling but it’s always nice to be able to tack a d4 onto a roll, you know? The edges can get a little poky. Two different numbering styles can be confusing, but despite these minor complaints, d4 remain okay. 7/10

d6. ah, the dice’s dice. Cube shaped. When someone says dice, this is probably what you think of. Maybe a little bit square—the accountant of dice. Sure there might be more fun, more edgy shapes but the d6 cube has a steady salary, health insurance, and maybe even dental. Good to roll. Classic. 8/10.

d8. Justin McEleroy is right. D8 are awful. Unpleasant to roll and unsatisfying to read. Almost always used for rolling damage with one handed weapons, I hope the extra ac you get from having a shield makes up for the terrible feeling of having to have one of these terrible things in your hand. 2/10

D10. Weird but not totally unpleasant. Extremely satisfying when rolling multiple dice, but they are jabby little things. 5/10

D12. A lot like the d20 but smaller and with a certain air of mystique to it because you almost never get to roll this motherfucker! It sits in your bag, taunting you with its perfectly good shape as you are forced to use the far less pleasing d8 and d10. 8/10.

d20. The nerd’s dice! Just a good lad. Fun and easy to roll and read. Makes a satisfying clunk. Nothing quite like the natural high of one of these good boys rolling a twenty, or the cold dread of rolling a natural one. 10/10
