''what if you regret it'' then you will expirience regret - a normal and unavoidable part of the human expirience.
the more you twist yourself into a pretzel to avoid regret the harder it will hit when it eventually catches up to you.

A totara has fallen... Rest in peace, mate.
What is prev to you?
the smell of woodsmoke in the dark
sunlight glittering on drifts of snow
opening chords to a classic song after an ad break on the radio
daisies in a mason jar
the curve in the road you always take a bit too fast
blank notebook with a leather cover
a stone church with carvings and spires and stained-glass
a cool pillow and a warm blanket at midnight
playlist that makes sense to no one else
yellow leaf floating down a clear cold river
silver fog over green hills and warm hands in raincoat pockets
a strain of violin music floating through a crowded subway
"More than 65,000 votes in the Waiata 100 have been tallied. Aotearoa has spoken."
I love the music of Aotearoa New Zealand and I love this list. Sharing so you can find a new favorite song too.
For thousands of Kiwis, local music doesn't get better than the heartwarming '80s waiata 'Poi E' by Pātea Māori Club.
some of my favorite black cat motivationals :3

thing I am proud of: when the doctor started going on a weird rant about long covid not being real I paused and listened to his nonsense for a bit and then very calmly said, in a polite and curious tone, "you don't believe in post-viral illness?" and he like. stammered a bunch and was like OH WELL I'M NOT SAYING -- I DON'T...I just think ..! and backpedaled awkwardly while I just sat there like :3c interesting :3c thank you so much for clarifying your stance on this :3c
an important skill for chronically ill people to develop is the ability to treat the doctor as though they are simply a person you are interviewing to find out how much they know about your condition.
Holy shit op this is LITERALLY in the book 'Never Split The Difference: Negotiating as if Your Life Depends On It'. Written by a guy who did hostage negotiation and then tried doing business negotiation, and mopped the floor with industry experts.
I'm fortunate enough to have a primary care doctor who knows about hEDS, but it's occurring to me that the skills in this book could be medically life changing for chronically ill folks of all kinds. Like. Literally a matter of life and death, especially for BIPOC and/or fat and/or young people who are having their issues dismissed.
HMMM interesting!! will have to check this out
Original
people foolishly dismiss desserts and treats as having no nutritional value when they actually are necessary for refilling your sanity stat. to prove my point please observe the emotional stability of the next person you meet who doesnt let themselves ever eat any form of dessert
*baseball slides into this post* WHY HELLO THERE! Fitness, exercise, and nutrition have been my hyperfixations since I was a teenager (I am now in my 40s). I went through multiple diet/starvation phases and came out the other side of all of it heavier (with muscle and fat) and so much healthier and with a deeper appreciation of the pleasure of food!! Studies have proven that we absorb more nutrition from food if we enjoy eating it!
The human brain needs sugar AND fat to function!
The human body needs fat to be healthy, because vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble, meaning they can ONLY be absorbed by fat cells. They are stored in those cells, so if you don't have enough fat in your diet, your body can't absorb or use those vitamins properly!
Our long-term health outcomes are better if we eat a varied diet which includes fats and carbohydrates! There truly is no such thing as "bad" food and anybody who tells you there is is either lying to you or trying to sell you something OR BOTH! The best thing you can do for your body is eat as many different kinds of foods as you can, and move your body around sometimes!
this website lets you listen to the sounds of all different forests around the world
Reblogging again cause I tried this site last night and if you need background noise to focus this is perfect for that, I was locked the fuck in on a task. And it’s also just gorgeous to listen to
