Finding all the paragraphs where you used some hyper-specific word more than once

Rearranging paragraphs that you swear you wrote in the right order but turned out to be totally backwards

Going for a walk, coming up with the perfect line, and forgetting it as soon as you get home and open your laptop

Creating a separate document where you can dump all of those nice sentences that no longer fit in anywhere

I didn’t have a handle of english but I thought because of the “-ly” suffix it was one big describing word so I asked what it meant. However she didn’t know what I meant, she ended up explaining what dawn was (I already knew that 🙄 I wasn’t a fool). She got more confused, thinking I meant what the lyrics were trying to say emotionally

She described the wave of relief as the sun crested over the landscape. The feeling of relaxing your shoulders because even so it’s not over the worst part has passed.

I loved the fictional word ‘dawnserly’. It was the moment in The Lord of the Rings when the ring is destroyed but they are still so far from home. They are still physically in pain but they are no longer in mortal peril

I often wonder if this is why you so commonly see the sentiment that we are in an era of uniquely bad literature, or at least that the fact that most books don't have artistic aspirations and are not aiming to be anything other than mindless entertainment is new. In fact what's new is the idea that everything is worth preserving (and also the internet making it easier to preserve it). The dumb artistically unambitious trash books of the past have survived only sporadically, because people thought of them as literally disposable.

She ignited the fire by pointing at it.

"Ah. You are a sorceress. I did wonder."

"Why?"

"I don't have six sisters. Or aunts."

"They died. Most children do."

His joy and whimsy at seeing this

His acknowledgement of it not being as interesting as the chase

it’s okay that i don’t have a sewing machine

i love backstitching by hand for hours

this has got to be great for my back

millions of my ancestors did this and they lived almost as long as i want to
