These Valentine's Day cookies are not only adorable but also delicious. The buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture combined with the sweetness of the sugar and the hint of vanilla make them a perfect treat to share with your loved ones.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Red or pink food coloring. Valentine's Day themed sprinkles.
Instructions: Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a different bowl until it is light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them in until they are just combined. You can change the color of your cookies by adding a few drops of red or pink food coloring. Mix until the color is spread out evenly. Put the cookie dough in the fridge for at least an hour with plastic wrap over it. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Make small balls out of the chilled cookie dough and place them on the baking sheet, leaving a few inches between each one. Press down on each cookie ball gently with the back of a fork to make a cross pattern. For a fun touch, sprinkle Valentine's Day-themed sprinkles on top of the cookies. After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
