I've silently struggled with severe dysphoria my whole life.
I'm grateful that no adult, guardian, or healthcare professional in my life was greedy and corrupt enough to carelessly manipulate and trick me into thinking that "medical transitioning" could cure or fix me, or make me feel better, or turn me into an actual biological male, like I've always wanted to be.
I'm still struggling with my dysphoria and will probably always struggle with it, since appropriate mental healthcare is not offered by doctors & therapists, and no appropriate safe options for other treatments exist for gender-dysphoric people who do not want to give into the death cult that is gender ideology, by pursuing dangerous experimental body modifications through surgery and hormones.
But it's probably better to be alive and mentally suffering, than to be mutilated by people who were supposed to help you and being physically in pain as a result. And it's much better than being dead from medical malpractice without any avenue for my family to even receive compensation or justice for my wrongful death. This is what gives me some solace.
More doctors need to be like the GP in this article. They need to speak up about the harms of "gender-affirming care" and stop performing unnecessary, dangerous, invasive medical procedures on young mentally-ill people who aren't even fully informed of all the risks and dangers of the procedures and prescriptions that they're given.
More people with gender dysphoria would benefit from actual talk therapy, and being taught how to accept being okay with their own body and the biological sex that they were born as. When I've said that "I'm a boy" or "I want to be male" while growing up, maybe if someone reminded me every once in a while that "it's okay to be female, even if you don't want to be" or that "girls are just as valuable as boys" or that "women don't deserve to suffer just because they're female" — if I had an adult in my life telling me those sorts of things while I was a kid — a "TERF" so to speak — maybe I wouldn't be struggling with so much severe dysphoria even now.
Maybe we just need more kind, compassionate "TERFs" in the world like JK Rowling telling young girls and women that we matter. That our lives matter. That our safety matters. That our rights matter. That our voice matters. That our privacy matters. That our dignity matters. That our comfort matters.
That maybe all female human beings matter, regardless of how we identify.
...I'm still waiting on the world to tell me that.
With how things are going, I don't think females are going to matter anytime soon.
Most dysphoric girls/women/female people don't need "medical transitioning". We needed feminism. We needed the abolition of gender.
i.e. gender-critical feminism. — Radical feminism.
We needed more "TERFs" in our lives to support us and tell us that we're not the problem — society is. What we don't need are the unethical, virtue-signalling groomers who can't accept us for being gender-nonconforming females. (The same is true for gender non-conforming males.)
All of you who support gender-affirming care need to check your misogyny. This is medical malpractice. This is yet another example of how all female people are hurt by the medical misogyny that is currently happening in so many parts of the "developed" world. WAKE UP. You're hurting those of us that still suffer from both dysphoria and misogyny. When will society actually start helping us?
