I want to be clear sometimes *I* am the one saying dumb shit and apologizing and then nobody wants to talk about it again. I am not always the victim here. There have been so many times I have said something really dumb or even just a little dumb that have been met with someone refusing to communicate with me for an arbitrary length of time and then suddenly we just go back to normal and if I bring it up *I'm* accused of being difficult for wanting to ensure things are better. Maybe that is toxic of me and I should just let it go. I can't fucking tell anymore. But there have also been times someone else said or did dumb shit and I'm expected to kind of just brush it under the rug. It really makes me feel like I can't ever have interpersonal conflict because it's impossible to predict where it will go.
