you can't spell acrylic without cry

I didn't lose any money from this thankfully bc i noticed the email they sent "from PayPal" was actually sent from a @gmail.com address and they stopped responding to me when I confronted them about it at this point. They soft blocked me or deleted our conversation on tumblr before I could screenshot it but basically they DM'd me asking about a commission, and after I scrolled their blog and it seemed like it was run by an actual person, I let my guard down a bit too much and said yes, quotes them and started working on it. We followed up on discord, and after 2 drafts, I asked about setting up payment. This is when I receive a fake PayPal screenshot saying they sent me money, as well as a fake email allegedly from PayPal stating that in order to receive my $50 from them that I would have to send money of my own then split the difference (which makes no damn sense lol).

I find it quite insidious that someone would prey on freelance artists who work on commissions to scrape together a little extra money outside of their other jobs and who may be too trusting bc the prospect of getting a commission strokes their egos a bit, which was my situation sadly. But yeah, don't fall for scams like this, even if all the scammer wasted was a couple of hours working on a fake art commission. Don't trust any emails that seem fishy bc they probably are.
