I grew up before the term 'thigh gap' was invented I grew up before 'hip dip' was invented I was born before 'muffin top' was a thing before 'clean girl look' was a thing before 'glass skin' was a thing before razoring off peach fuzz was a thing and I'm so so so fucking tired of us inventing new concepts purely for the purpose of convincing people to hate their own bodies enough to buy products

dislike how many mental health posts on here are just "you've never done anything wrong in your life ever and they were evil for that"

maybe you did do something wrong. maybe you hurt someone. maybe you have said awful things. maybe you were just as bad as them. maybe. but what matters is that you move on. you have to try. you have to wake up and be kinder. you have to learn and listen and grow. maybe you did do something wrong but that doesn't mean you have to keep doing that. as long as you are alive, you can change

This also plays into the very common black-and-white narrative of evil perpetrator and blameless victim. Carcerality requires that all victims be pure of heart and deed and if you've ever done anything that could be construed as "wrong," anything that happened to you after that is your own fault. The reason why a lot of people fall into that mental health posting trap is because people with mental illnesses need care (all people need care, but some more urgently than others) and we have learned that people who have done something wrong, who said awful things, who were just as bad as the other person, aren't worthy of love, care, or help. So we draw the battle lines. Everyone we've been in conflict with is the enemy and we are the innocent victims. It's really fucked up how this plays out through everything from sexual assault and domestic abuse trials to so-called cancel culture.

we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation
