So the bottom layers of Cybertron have like a immune system like Unicron but they’re attacking and absorbing those forgotten layers, like mysterious massive sinkholes just happen for no reason and no one wants to go down and try to figure it out cuz no one comes back alive from those metal eating immune systems.

This is a MegaStar Gemformers collection.

Starscream is a star-shaped pearl in different colors, and Megatron is an Obsidian.(G1/cybervers→Fire Obsidian；TFP→Rainbow Obsidian; SG→Blue Sheen Obsidian)

I picked Obsidian for Mega mainly because I once watched a SU analysis on YouTube saying that non-fusion Obsidians seem to be more like army-based construction workers — basically labor-class Gems. Not super high in status, but very powerful. And since we also see Snowflake Obsidian having some unique abilities in the show, it just felt like a really good fit.

As for Starscream… no explanation needed. Pearl-coded from the start 💅✨

Rules for the Cassettes; Set by Soundwave

Autoscout may not be used by darling without Soundwave's permission. (He doesn't care how much you beg to Autoscout. He expects the cassette to resist such temptations. It will be more than easy to replace it with another.)

Beastbox isn't allowed to interrogate darling. (Soundwave worries, perhaps even fears, that Beastbox's violent conduct will lead to your passing. He has thought of breaking Beastbox for that singular reason. Threat: possible. Fear: illogical, yet present.)

Buzzsaw is not allowed to create his masterpieces around you. (He becomes too absorbed in his refined process, which leaves you an opportunity to egress. Soundwave also doesn't want to deal with Buzzsaw's brooding at your disruption and rejection of his artistic abilities.)

Enemy may not argue with you. (He relishes in your hatred for him. He thrives off it. Soundwave will never voice this, but it creates a fierce jealousy within his spark. Soundwave: only one darling is allowed to ultimately despise. your hatred of him = your love for him)

Frenzy is not allowed to fight you. (He's aggressive and reckless. You're human, easily breakable.)

Garboil is not allowed to nest with you. (You're quite possibly the only thing that is able to distract Garboil from his job. He is essential to the DSP. Therefore, he is not allowed to put you in his nest-like berth and recharge with you. The cassette is, to put it lightly, disgruntled about it.)

Howlback is not allowed to mark you. (She's territorial, tending to draw blood when she bites. Soundwave doesn't want his darling littered in cassette hickies. He certainly doesn't want his darling covered in love bites that don't originate from his denta.)

Laserbeak cannot be your caretaker. (Laserbeak often stalks you when he's not settled in Soundwave or gathering information for Decepticon causes. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. But a closer look reveals a weakness. He is not fit for battle. His cowardice will overpower his attachment to darling. Not trustworthy.)

Overkill is not allowed to transform when you're around. (He is absolutely plagued with the impulse to try and impress you. You make his circuitry run so hot that he short-circuits quite often. This happens more times when he is attempting to transform than not. A dino the size of a human child's toy will not be effective in any way when it comes to either defending or restraining you.)

Ratbat is banned from using you as a source of fuel and bait. (Ratbat is like if OCD and a billionaire created offspring. He'll use you to his advantage and then sheepishly apologize to Soundwave. That apology is bullshit, and Soundwave knows it. Ratbat loves you, but he loves himself more.)

Ravage cannot guard darling for extended periods of time unless absolutely necessary. (His loyalty is unmatched, but he's just as blind as he'll be if caught off guard by his one weakness: bright lights. Or perhaps two: you. He'll refuse to recharge unless ordered by either Soundwave or Megatron. This has led to him needlessly straining his spark on numerous occasions. So Soundwave always keeps comms with Ravage open so he can monitor one of his best cassettes and ensure safe efficiency.)

Rumble and Frenzy are banned from looking after darling on their own. (It is far too easy to manipulate them. They are also lovable dumbasses who get easily distracted. Promise them kisses, and they'll let you escape. One realizes you tricked them. The other thinks you're just grabbing something before coming back to kiss them. They bicker about it for the next- however long until Soundwave appears. And that's why the rule is here now.)

Rumble has to keep you away from fights, preferably somewhere high; you're usually seated on his shoulder. (He isn't a close-combat type of bot. The earthquakes he causes are dangerous. Soundwave doesn't need Rumble getting overzealous and harming you as a result. Rumble will get fanatical. That's why he makes sure Rumble knows to look after you before he causes excessive destruction.)

Slugfest needs permission before doing anything to or with darling. (He's dull with an explosive personality. It's even easier to manipulate him than Frenzy and Rumble. It's self-explanatory, really.)

Squawktalk has explicit orders to limit his talking while around darling. (It's a nearly impossible task. But if darling is clever enough, they can get Squawktalk to squawk about some pretty important things they can use to their advantage. It's way too easy to beak read him. It's really a blessing in disguise. If you aren't already deaf or HoH, he'll make you wish you were. Invest in some noise-canceling earbuds.)

Oh I'm all for it. But! Only if he's actually a Con. Like. Wholeheartedly.

You know how in canon he truly believes he's on the right side and makes everything to ensure that Optimus wins the war? You know how he's willing to make every tough decision so Optimus doesn't have to risk his reputation? You know how he literally makes Autobots look like shiny brave and clean heroes who did nothing wrong ever?

I want all that but the other way around. I want him to do that for Megatron and for the Decepticons. The implications would be so fucking dramatic I could write a whole essay.

Low rank Cons would hate him so fucking bad.

Maybe those are scrappers trying to train 'reviewbots' to be sold as part of some scam service promising to give feedback for newbie writers, who the fuck knows.

Like Orion would pull all sorts of shit breaking into the archives that cogless are presumably not allowed in, presumably doing it multiple times to where D-16 has to cover his ass. And the risky maneuvers like the race and the collapsing mine. Like they may have been done with the best intentions in mind, but it’s pretty clear that our D-16 doesn’t agree with most of this and is literally dragged along for the ride because he doesn’t saddle up to anybody else.

Like it feels like imprinting when you’re in a new workplace, the AC end where they meet each other, the lack of interaction D-16 has with other bots.

Like they must’ve clicked on crazy energy, but D-16 has been too brainwashed into fanatical belief of Sentinel and co to actually let loose.

Like the mech must’ve seen the signs for oppression, but chose willful ignorance to contribute to the greater good dictated by the “higher being”

And Orion clearly knew something was up before the high guard, but only worked up the courage to ask right as there interrupted.

That sort of mistrust demonstrated on Orions part when D-16 first got spittin mad probably rose some defensiveness in D-16.

And then Orion didn’t even know how to bring up difficult topics about feelings.
