1. Confident, self-fulfilling female characters. I don't think you can watch B99 without noticing how all the female characters are strong, independent women who in no way, shape or form require male validation to be themselves. And you can never just blow past the way these characters support and hype each other up in incredible ways.

2. Proper representation of the LGBTQ+ community. If you've watched a lot of sitcoms, you'd know that it's very common for them to include homophobic jokes for "humor" purposes or even portray the gay characters in very stereotypical ways. However, B99 made it clear that they are not into that bullshit from episode 1. I mean, have you seen Raymond Holt and Rosa Diaz? It's pretty self-explanatory.

3. Not forcing the heterosexual relationships between characters. For example, we all remember how Charles was head over heels for Rosa, and how it was very clear that they would not be anything more than friends, and their friendship proceeds to be one of the most precious ones in the show. More examples are Charles's and Gina's casual relationship with no strings attached. And the one relationship that prevailed - Jake and Amy - was very smoothly woven into the plot and didn't seem forced at all.

4. The concept of chosen family. I cannot stress this enough, but the way the whole squad grows more into a family with every season is so heartwarming. The way that despite the captain not being comfortable with expressing emotions, he never misses the chance to remind them that they're part of a family.
