Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year? sabrina carpenter! i technically started listening to her at the end of last year (fruitcake was my introduction to her music actually lol) but short 'n sweet really solidified her place in all my playlists, it's such a fun album and i'm genuinely obsessed with how witty her lyrics are the first time i listened to her album it actually made me laugh sm 😭💛

i don't really post pictures of my face on tumblr anymore BUT heres two drawings from the beginning and the end of the year! i still love the first one so much, it was actually based off a moment at the NYE party i went to when my friend was obviously into this guy and literally everyone was watching them as they went "somewhere private" to kiss ("somewhere private" being the next room, which had a massive window in the door). i remember the light in that room being really yellow while the lighting in the room that the party was in was really blue and i was like "damn this should be a painting". and then a short while later it was!

it's so bleak how fans are taking this lovely moment of taylor and beyonce supporting each other and still managing to twist it to make it about a man with all their terrible takes about how she's doing it in london to be petty and to show joe what he's missing out on. it's becoming more obvious that so many fans think the most interesting and noteworthy thing about taylor is her relationships and it really just makes the fandom way less enjoyable because it can never be about just her and her music :/

no you're so right. beyonce went to taylors premiere and taylor has the time to return the favor, but no its never simple and straightforward. everything needs a reason and that reason needs to fuel the fan-made fire they've written her personal life to be. a man has to be the leading cause of all of this, they are the reason behind every action she takes. and the reason coincides with the most recency biases they have towards the men in her life. shes in london? to get back at joe. she's smiling? thats because of travis. she's sad during a song? she's upset about joe shes still healing. she's mad? what did joe do?? swifties internalized misogyny has been so highlighted recently with how obsessive they are, especially the reasons they seem to love her current relationship. the amount of times i've seen swifties say something along the lines of 'now shes with a real man'... is so disturbing... i thought we moved passed this in 2023 and were embarrassed by this traditional gender roles nonsense... its all just so overwhelming and disturbing
