Scooby-Doo (2002) had an incredible animated intro that was cut from the final film due to length constraints, and it’s still wild that something that good didn’t make the theatrical release
the losing dogs and i are engaging in insider trading
A year or so ago I went to wood carving club with a bruised eye from my dog slamming his nose into my eyesocket and like every old lady there pulled me aside at some point to ask if my partner hit me here are some of the solutions they had in case he did.
-Replacing his vitimens with poision
- getting her brother to invite him out onto his boat and then killing him and dumping him in the ocean and saying he got drunk and fell off.
- get tboned with him in the passenger seat and then once he was in the hospital theres all kinds of easy ways to kill him like not washing my hands after a poop and then touching his wound casually.
-replacing his drink of choice with moonshine!?
- take him on a hike thats locally notorious for a rapid otter attacking hikers and once he had rabies I could just kill him any ol way and say self defense.
-One lady just cheerfully informed me she had a gun and only a few years left anyway

Found the source of the infographic that explains how the results were obtained!
there’s sixteen Colorado counties that their most searched was “wolf furry”, plus thirty-odd counties (not counting either Arapahoe or any of the ones marked here as “Insufficient Data”) which may well have had plenty of searches for “wolf furry”, just fewer than for whatever they’re labeled here
and “skunk furry” searches in Arapahoe County outnumbered “wolf furry” searches in the entire state of Colorado
something tells me Skunks Georg
we did it, we created furry gerrymandering
ANALYSIS: As a community, we talk a good talk about keeping each other safe, so why aren’t we doing it now?

it's sad that the poll tourney trend ended three years ago because a) i liked being so invested in absolute nonsense and b) i really want to do a "favorite victims of fandom misogyny" or "favorite hated female character" tournament. i'm just really in the mood to see people passionately defend unfairly maligned women (fictional) in my notes. would anyone be into this? i might try to do it anyway, but also it's kind of a bummer to run a poll where only like three people are participating.
okay, this post got like ten notes, that's enough for me to at least give it a try. if i actually decide to go forward with this, i'll probably post the submission form again when i create a victims of fandom misogyny tournament sideblog (also if anyone has a better name idea than that mouthful, please suggest it!) but in the meantime, let's start submissions here. here are some rules:
no real people (obviously there are lots of real life women who are victims of fandom misogyny, but i feel like having those women compete in a poll against each other and also against fictional characters would be kind of disrespectful to the actual real life shit they were put through)
no men!!!! idc if he's like a woman to you, this tournament isn't for him!!!!
obviously, misogyny does not have to be the only factor here, it just has to be one of the factors. if racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc. are also part of the problem, do not hesitate to bring that up in your submission! it's highly relevant! the last thing i want is a tournament consisting of only cis straight white women, especially because so many of the hated/mistreated women of fandom are also marginalized in other ways that the fandom hates them for.
idk if this is a rule exactly, but just to clarify, this tournament is about which one of these characters is your favorite. it is emphatically not about trying to quantify which character is the biggest victim of fandom misogyny. that seems like an utterly exhausting and pointless thing to argue about, please don't subject me to that. i just want to see people defend their favorite overly maligned or mistreated girlies in my notes, i cannot stress this enough
characters don't have to be overtly hated to be victims of fandom misogyny. they can also be perpetually ignored in favor of men, or constantly characterized as the wise mom friend who the fandom has apparently decided has no desires or goals or needs besides being a sounding board for their favorite white boy, etc.
there's no time limit on this thing. even if the hatred/fandom mistreatment has died down and the character in question has been re-examined since, if there was ever a period in which they were subjected to fandom misogyny en masse, they count.
that said, don't choose characters who are generally universally beloved and always have been but you saw one person shit on them one time in a misogynistic way and got annoyed. i hate when that happens too, but it's does have to be a trend, not just one annoying guy, even if the guy in question is really annoying.
submit as many characters as you like!
you can submit a character here:
bro i LOVE indigenous fusion music i love it when indigenous people take traditional practices and language and apply them in new cool ways i love the slow decay and decolonisation of the modern music industry
I WILL !!! I WILL DO THAT
some of my favourite indigenous artists, in no particular order:
Inuit artists:
the jerry cans (esp their album Inuusiq)
beatrice deer
twin flames
Māori artists:
jordyn with a why
Indigenous australian artists:
tilly tjala thomas (i particularly love ngai yurlku nhiina)
kardajala kirridarra (srlsly check out ngajabu (Grandmother's Song))
i've also heard good things abt Baker Boy, but i haven't checked out his stuff yet
Another one for Inuit artists is Piqsiq! Two sisters who’ve been doing traditional throat singing since they were kids. They make some really gorgeous, eerie, atmospheric stuff. Highly recommend watching this video of them performing live a cappella using a looping machine, because they might be the coolest people on the planet actually
(Jo March nearly in tears voice) women,,,,
For anyone into North Asian and Central Asian folk music, there's this incredible Siberian folk-pop band called Otyken! The group is mostly women and they're from multiple indigenous groups in Siberia, with songs being sung in their range of different languages. They're so much fun and their music videos are amazing!
i'll go ahead and recommend The Halluci Nation (formerly known as A Tribe Called Red), an EDM group from First Nations Ontario that do really cool fusions of First Nations music with dubstep, moombahton, and hip hop.
I really really really appreciate people who share videos on posts like these, because almost without a doubt every time I love the music but I’ve never got the spoons to click on links and look through a bunch of music or worse google the artist I always end up too overwhelmed to start and I hate that
Haven't seen Belle Sisoski here yet so here we go: she's the current Artist of Year for BURO impact Awards. She's from Malaysia and knows how to play an insane amount of ethnic instruments and mixes them with her own voice. She does covers and her own songs, mixes ethnic instruments with Techno and shows the process. And she's also a live DJ at 19!
And one of her own:
Oh and of course there's also the HU and Bloodywood for people who like more rock and metal mixed in:
1876 is a Pow Wow punk rock band from Portland, Oregon
Alien Weaponry is an awesome Māori metal band
Darkaside is a Papuan metal band
Shepherds Reign is a Samoan metal band
Ts'msyen (pacific northwest coast) black metal
cities breaking down on a camels back
images: two tweets by stand-up comedian Benny Feldman.
the first picture shows a tweet:
"Don't police comedy" Well. I'm not going to arrest anyone. I'm not even trying to cancel anyone in the 2010s sense of having them lose their job. My goal for comedians who make regressive jokes is for them to change their minds. And for everyone to understand why jokes matter.
the second picture shows a quote retweet. twitter user ChoppedBeef says:
"All I want is for everyone to agree with me"
to which Benny Feldman's response is:
I would like everyone to be not racist instead of racist, yes
end image descriptions.
benny feldman's the man who gave us 'it's just a joke dude. and the joke is just rooted in ideas. that i'm enforcing' and also 'it's just a joke dude. it's just one of the most digestible and powerful forms of persuasive rhetoric my guy'. he posts a lot of his one-liner sets online. he's a very good person to check on occasionally if you're interested in the philosophy of humour.
Random non-trans related 🍊 political(?) opinions
Disabled people should be allowed to get married without loosing benefits
Death penalty should be abolished
They prison system needs heavily reworked towards not being for profit and focusing on rehabilitation
You should not be forcefully commited for communicating suicidal thoughts
Kids should have more rights
Military recruiters shouldn't be allowed to come to schools and they especially shouldn't be allowed to lie
Free healthcare
All drugs should be legalized
Social media shouldn't be allowed to demand your legal name, age, or ID
Okay, genuine question for those of you who are against reforming the prison system and instead want to abolish it entirely, what do you think we should do with criminals? This isn't meant to be a snarky comeback or anything I genuinely want to know what you think should be done instead
It's a 3-pronged response, the first (and perhaps most important) being "no measure of reform can ever remedy the harms generated by the prison. "
The second is the re-framing of what we consider to be "criminals." The idea that prisons are a hotbed of subhuman creatures waiting to prey on us lest they be released is false, but even if that were the case, abusing them doesn't "fix" that. Very little crime is violent crime, the most violent offenders will never be behind bars, and even among violent crime--context reveals bigger issues than simply some sense of innate evil of the offender.
The third is the understanding of what prisons are, and what they are not. Prisons are motivated by profit, exploiting labor, removing portions of the population from larger society, and have simply no interest in making actual changes that allow for rehabilitation.
Prison Abolition in Question(s): Part One is a pretty good primer on what the goals of prison abolition are and why reform will never reach those goals, explicitly tackling your exact question in multiple parts.
“We have grown weary of worn-out debates over the feasibility of a world without prisons.”
Angela Davis: Are Prisons Obsolete? (pdf)
Coverage and transcript for full interview here
Long story short: the worst threats to safety are not in prison, prison makes people worse, every effort to reform prisons have success outside of a prison setting, and so there is no need to preserve prisons to achieve those changes.

Shout out to trans women who aren’t computer scientists or musicians or avant-garde artists or whatever.
Shout-out to tgirls who work at Taco Bell. Thank u queen, society would collapse without you
Over twenty years ago my big brother got me a job at a Taco Bell in the St. Louis suburbs-West County. He warned me that it was the “gay Taco Bell”, but since I was coming from the “gay Howard Johnson’s” I wasn’t shocked. It turns out it was the black trans women Taco Bell complete with black trans women in management. And they’d worked out an arrangement with the local teen Narcotics Anonymous group so that twice a week we would shut down the drive thru and the dining room and exclusively serve 60+ teens in various stages of recovery. And many of the women I worked with were in various stages of being out or transitioning and they were from all generations from teens to over 50. One woman I worked with had a regular corporate job presenting as a man 9-5 Mon-Fri and then came to Taco Bell and worked 6pm -2am Friday and Saturday night so she could be herself surrounded by other black transwomen in those stolen weekends. And we had customers come from all over the metro area because they knew they could be themselves in the dining room. I only worked there from 1999-2001 but for young me, this was a vital, formative experience. Some of the girls came from north city all the way out to the “gay Taco Bell” on Manchester in west county because they heard it was safe to work there. Like- I know times have changed but they haven’t changed much in 20 years. I’m still convinced that for lgbt youth, finding a job at your city’s version of the “gay Taco Bell” is key to survival.
Thank u for sharing this with us
