I do miss Patlani and Davrin… I had horny things planned for them and also truly heartbreaking shit to explore. At least they live on in my brain and the randomly scattered documents where I put down thoughts.

Like a huge point of contention early on was the fact that Patlani was an assassin, and they acted pretty unrepentant about it and they in turn hated how good Davrin was. But you know. At some point Davrin has to learn that Patlani was not willingly a Crow. And in such will probably also find out about Patlani’s heritage. Patlani wouldn’t tell him themselves, but most of their companions knew some part about it if not more (Zea knows a lot, and I imagine she has a good friendship with Davrin). Something could slip. And that’s something fun to throw into it all. Would have been very fun to explore. The realization of how much of a fucking act Patlani put on to hide their pain.

I do remember that like. Bellara was aware somewhat early on about Patlani having Dalish heritage, I had something somewhere about Bellara assuming they were Dalish, based on their name and the fact they do know a bit of some form of elven and do know some things about the Dalish (thanks to Zea). And Zea of course knew both about that as well as stuff about the Crows, how could she not, especially when by the time Veilguard rolls around Patlani and Zea have known each other for like a decade. But Davrin doesn't know for a while, during the part of his and Patlani's relationship where they kinda hate each other, and things shift slowly and slightly, it's fun to think of how much things shift after him learning that stuff about Patlani. And how it might (briefly) affect his feelings about Zea, the fact that she's known them for so long, knew these things, and he wonders how she could stomach letting them return to the Crows every time. And how does he feel about the fact that they both knew but he didn't?

To all the writers who haven't written in a while. May the right words come to you and may they actually get written down.
