hey now
Trying to get an obgyn appointment (realisiert das is deutsch-spezifisch) als gesetzlich versicherte is besondere art von höllenqual. was meinst du damit der nächste termin is im november. ich sage danke und lege auf. schau bei der nächsten praxis. nächster termin dezember. ich überleg zu weinen. halte an mich. schau nach, wann nächster termin für privatpatienten. 9. Juli. ich falle zu boden und bleibe regungslos liegen. der wind fasst mich an und trägt mich fort. die rabenvögel haben ein glitzern in den augen, als ich in den wolken verschwinde.
I fully get the point (bin gesetzlich versichert as well) and it doesn't work for everything but always check the 116117 webseite for appointments with obgyn, Hausärztin, psychische Betreuung und noch ein paar andere

I’ve always felt that the in-store FAQ “What’s your favourite book?” is way too personal and my reflexive answer is “None of your business!” Perhaps I’ll eventually receive the therapy required to field this question with grace, but it currently remains a professional weak spot. On the other hand, I am a little surprised that none of you Nosey Parkers ever asks “So what kinds of books do you collect?” which is a fun question and feels somehow less extractive. In honour of Canada Day I will ask and answer my own question: I sometimes collect publications related to the Canadian metrication movement, the period from 1970 to 1985 when Canada moved from imperial measurements to the metric system. A few are pictured above. They represent a progressive and scientific movement away from imperial systems and American hegemony, they are practical, often domestic in scope and cleverly designed. And since no one else seems to collect them they are cheap, but ephemeral and so rather scarce. If one were to follow up with a few more rather prying personal inquiries (“What is your ideal sleeping temperature? And how tall are you?”) the answers (“17 Celsius” and “5 foot 6 and a half”) would indicate that the work of metrication in Canada is only half done. Being Canadian is a conundrum for many reasons, but looking back on this kind of material history gives context and definition to an inchoate identity. As an aside, there was an ancient graffiti on the breakwater near my childhood home that read “METRIC SUCKS! SO DOES TRUDEAU!!” - the dance of progress with history is sometimes just a funny shuffle forwards and back, round and round. Eventually it was erased by years of battering waves.
Maybe you came here with a more objectively answerable question: “are you open on Canada Day?” And if you’ve read this far, you deserve a straightforward answer: Yes. Indeed we are. 10-6 as usual. Run don’t walk, but if you have to drive, the speed limit is 30km/hr.

Everyone meet just a normal goose :)
Glad you guys like this totally normal goose!
I am making everyone remember normal goose
Well, I can not find the original separate post of this so I’m just going to tack these on here
you have to be able to defend people who are receiving unjust treatment even if they annoy you even if you personally find them extremely annoying you still have to be able to stand up and say "well thats fucked up"
the moral willpower required for "i hate their guts but my personal ethical standard is no xyz and i cannot set the precedent of making an exception for them" is imennse but important work

The weather forecast says a heat wave is coming. It’s never been this hot before, you feel like taking off your entire skin. The Thermostat says it’s 23 °C. The basic rules of modesty do not apply anymore. You get as naked as you can possibly afford at all times. Can you wear a bikini top and boxer shorts to university? Your professor does. Flip Flop. Flip Flop. Flip Flop. You turn around to see if someone is following you. No one in sight. You walk a little faster. Flip Flop. Flip Flop. They’re almost here. You sit next to a stranger on the bus. Your thighs are touching. When you try to get up for your stop, you cannot move. The stranger is staring out of the window, but you can’t see their face in the reflection. Your upper legs have fused together and it will only be a matter of time before one of you consumes the other. It’s 36° and it’s getting heißer. Life doesn’t feel hard at all. It’s getting heißer and heißer. You try to turn off the radio, but as soon as you turn your back to it, it’s 36° again and it’s getting heißer. The Klimaanlage in the Deutsche Bahn is broken. It’s always been broken. You’ve heard people say there is a single car where it works, but it’s never the one you’re in. The doors of the Tram open and 50 hungry lungs breathe in in unison. You don’t hear anything but the rattling over the Weichen until the next stop. You didn’t know you could hold your breath this long. You come home to find all of your shoes have been replaced with Flip Flops. Even the Sandalen you put on your own feet this morning have transformed while you were out, it seems. Or did you put them on? You can’t remember. There’s no answers. You wake up to the sun shining in your face. It’s 4 am and your window is on the north side of the house. Mom asks you to mäh the Rasen. You are sure you did it yesterday, but you also feel your nostrils longing for the smell of frischgeschnittnem Gras. How long has it been since you’ve eaten anything? The Flutschfinger at the Kiosk is 4,50€ now.

there are few feelings greater than when the timeline hands you an opportunity to give more than you take
first step is we are born and everything is 'how can i get more i gotta take care of me.' then we learn to share and learn 'gotta make sure everyones even' but DANG there is something really powerful about a third step of walkin into a room and saying 'how can i make sure everyone has more than me?'
honestly people think 'strength' is the first step but true strength is so obviously the third one

These wonderful people have a single braincell to share but unfortunately none of them are using it
A sick wizard castle with a nondescript van painted on the side. A gothy pin-up girl with the portrait of a random trucker tattooed on her thigh. A bathroom-themed beach vacation. A beautiful brightly coloured cupcake that tastes like soap.

I think a lot of people were raised being told that things are bad with no explanation as to why they’re bad and I don’t think I know enough about psychology to make any big statements about that
but anyways I think a lot of people see cheating on your partner as bad because they were just told that sex outside of your partner is bad or something but really cheating on your partner is bad because you had an agreement based on trust with them and you broke that trust so like why should they trust you with anything else now
The thing about taboos related to sex as well is that there’s a lot of diseases that can be transmitted through sex and in a world without condoms or antibiotics or super effective birth control it kind of makes sense to discourage people from sleeping around a lot because like. Abstinence only sex education is stupid but if you choose abstinence for yourself it is in fact very effective at preventing disease and pregnancy.
And if you have sex with someone other than your partner without telling them, well, then you’ve just exposed them to whatever diseases that other person might’ve been exposed to. That’s a risk they didn’t consent to.
But see explaining this to people makes too much sense I guess. Instead a lot of people are just like “sex bad” with no elaboration as to why they might be telling you that.
