I love summer but I can't stand the heat. I'm really struggling with the temperature and it makes me slow and tired. Today was a crazy day at work and I'm looking forward to the holidays... Our school is not built for heat, it makes teaching unbearable. The students can't concentrate and me neither.

23.06.2026—the weather this week has been sooo cold this week, im actually not cut out for this. my hands and feet do be freezing. but ive still managed to be productive, thankfully — and this draft is (slowly) making progress
Hi! I asked a question about getting stuff done a little while ago, thanks so much for the answer, has definitely helped :) I have another question off of my last one. I really struggle to get things done quickly, for example, if I need to organise a cupboard or if there’s admin related stuff it takes me SO long even though I’m giving my all. I try to focus on getting one thing done at a time but each task creates a whole new set of tasks e.g I’ll realise I need storage boxes for the cupboard I’m organising so I’ll go buy some but they don’t fit, so then I take them back for a refund and spend time faffing around with measurements. And then I’ll remember all the other things I urgently need to refund and the tasks will just build and build. I’m left with no time to do my actual work. It’s so strange. People can just set aside a few hours and get so much done. My to-do list just to maintain life is never-ending so I can’t move on to the tasks that actually matter. I’m not sure if I’ve made sense. It’s hard for me describe but if you have any insights I would really appreciate them xxx
hey!! glad the advice was useful. I totally relate, I feel like everything takes me longer (work projects, but also any life admin task, especially if I don’t want to do it which is pretty much always the case). the only thing that seems to help me is the sense of satisfaction I get after doing a big life admin task, and being free from that stress. if you get that feeling too, maybe think of that before you do the thing and see if that helps with doing the thing. otherwise I would also try setting a timer, and give yourself the time you think it’ll take to do the task, and see if you can beat it. gameifying my life has helped a lot with my ADHD executive dysfunction
all the best. lmk how it goes, and feel free to add more clarity if I’ve got the wrong impression / it isn’t useful
hi I just wanted to say that you're one of the strongest people I know and you're awesome. Amazing. sending you lots and lots of love and strength

How was your experience at ANU? I'm thinking of doing a Masters or PhD interstate but haven't decided where. Obviously supervisors play a big part in the experience haha but just generally, what's it like in the ACT? Would you recommend the uni to others? :)
I had a pretty abnormal experience as I started at the ANU in Covid, but overall I’ve really like the rigour and content of all the degrees and courses I’ve done. I definitely can’t speak for all Departments and degrees though, as I’m in the School of Politics & International Relations. It’s been a bit chaotic the last few years (if you’ve followed the news then you’ll know, but basically lots of financial and leadership crises). But overall I really like the uni & my supervisors in SPIR are fantastic and incredibly supportive and understanding with my mental health situation and general health/disability issues. Canberra is a great place to live - bit cold in the winter, but great quality of life and very outdoorsy culture. Always something on in the community, but you do have to look for it, and there are always events on campus too (for both undergrads and postgrads). If you’re a domestic student, there’s loads of job opportunities too, in the government (both ACT & federal level) and at the uni.
All the best, hope this was helpful 😊
