when i don’t know what to do in life i feel stuck or indecisive or even excited curious afraid whatever it may be i make a map. gives me direction that is non linear one that escapes the present time and place except for the time and place i create for myself. i love you map. a map is a compass in geography but also a compass of life. #makeamap

one thing i always do when i travel to big and small cities it could be nyc it could be warsaw it could be that mid-sized city you take the train to for a day trip i always always visit the main university library! they’re usually open to the public and it’s just such a particular way of experiencing a city it’s a way to see architecture no matter if old or new if beautiful or boring and then you also check out the shelves in foreign languages and look at the flyers and posters on their local bulletin boards you take the subway there and sit on benches maybe ask the librarian for their favourite cafe nearby. essential.

i expected toronto to be just another Big City but it’s not it’s a Big Jungle all the trees are so tall the branches so large and there are thick forest green branches falling almost draping left and right like velvet curtains of a theatre stage the jungle becomes all lights and radios and cars it feels like a hive deep inside the city’s heart but it’s encircled in a maze of sugar maples and hedges and weeping willows and the sweet sweet scent of lake water
