bashing my head into a wall bc of some stupid 7th century monk I'm obsessed with.
My year as a postgrad did sort of rule because if your teacher said something dumb you really could just start an argument with them, and if you did that it was called "engaging with the topic" and they couldn't dock you for it. Imagine if you could do that with your boss. Uni sucked in other ways but I've never had that before or since and I miss it to hell.
Ello, ello

And now to the actual study side of things, i have been given ethical approval to conduct my research entitled: An insight into how academic background and type of teacher training received can affect teaching efficacy in England i have been hard at work and have now completed 1.5/6 chapters with the methodology complete and lit review underway i have 3/6 interviews scheduled in prep for data collection and data analysis AND THE BEST NEWS SO FAR THIS PROJECT WILL BE SUBMITTED TO AN INTERNTATION CONFERENCE IN AUSTRIA

I stopped posting for a while because I didn’t get the point anymore. I forgot why I started sharing and went back to hiding.
It felt like it didn’t matter what I was doing. It was just write-ups and videos that didn’t make any difference.
But now, I’m back to creating (and sharing) because I re-found my why.
It was never about posting or having a social media presence.
I started this because I remember how lonely it felt navigating life after uni and learning how to adult, and I wanted to help at least one person feel less lonely as they navigated that phase too.
And I know that at least one person has and is being impacted, feels seen, and less alone on their journey of adulting. That’s my why.🥹
My mission is to help grads and anyone adulting feel less alone by sharing my journey, my lessons, and what not. So help me God.
So….
Cheers to 2026.🥂
Cheers to creating with purpose.✨
I’ll see you soon.💕
Reminders for you this week:
- God has anointed you to do great things.✨
- God is with you, everywhere you go! Be bold! Do not be afraid.🤗 Joshua 1:9
postgrad is so unserious and i love it. i burst into one of my supervisor's offices the other month apropos of nothing and just announced "THE TRADWIVES ARE DOING DAY COLLARS NOW" and without missing a beat my supervisor put her marking down and asked me to spill the tea
update
i know i said i would start posting more but shit has me swamped with work, uni and mental health i have been struggling to find any sort of motivation to post. i have officially submitted my research proposal and should hear back on the 21st jan 2026 wehther i am approved or not as well as finding out who my supervisor will be (i have an idea already) for those that don't know my research: my initial idea is due to the teacher shortage within the UK and potentially transfer the research and apply it in other places, so the main idea is basically to research teachers and their backgrounds and how this can potentially affect their ability to teach because for example in the UK teachers can go from any degree to the do a QTS (qualified teacher status) which even though i dont have one and dont fully know what is taught during them, my idea is that trainee teachers that dont have a previous background in education need to have an additional training as i believe that having the background and theoretical knowledge behind everything we do within the classroom can affect teachers confidence to teach, this will also cover things like teachers ability to support students with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) due to the training and knowledge provided during the education degree they potentially come in with to gain the data im going to use both qualitative and quantitative data (mixed-methods) using a questionnaire with the PANAS scale (Positive and negative affect schedule) to measure how they felt about teaching before and after their training and comparing this with when they did their training, how long ago it was and their background (degree), I'm going to ask my previous peers to fill out as some of them have literally just finished their training, through doing this i can determine how much confidence teachers have before and after, because i know in the UK in the QTS trainee teachers are expected to almost immediately teach and that can be terrifying to some so i propose that to gain the knowledge and confidence trainees needs additional training more of a knowledge based section if they did not have any experience, or knowledge in education preciously
1st step to getting this done is justifying the research so next update will hopefully be me collecting some sources that justify the need
