Jane is a character who had a crush on a character named Jake English, who was also being crushed on by a guy character named Dirk Strider, which means she was horribly subjected to being "the girl getting in the way of everyone's yaoi pairing" AND IT SICKENS ME!!! She was literally just a teenage girl with a crush on a cute boy and even though she beat herself up about it she was so supportive of Jake dating Dirk. She never tried to actively get in their way until she was LITERALLY MIND CONTROLLED BY HER GRANDMA. She's also fat which has been either constantly ignored or used as the butt of jokes by the fandom. Even though the attitude surrounding her is better now, she's still frequently brushed aside in favour of male characters. even in the (dubiously canon) Homestuck Epilogues the writers took this fandom attitude and turned her in to a horrible power-hungry woman who coerced Jake into sleeping with and marrying her which just made the fandom attitude WORSE

jane is so fucking cool man. she uses baking tools as weapons. she's the only human girl in Homestuck to frequently wear pants instead of a skirt and she walks around wearing a fake mustache and a fedora and pretends to be a detective. she's literally a silly little guy!!! The new writers who picked up Homestuck2 seem to be doing somewhat better by her now at least, but the attitude towards her in the fandom can still be kind of abysmal!!! jane crocker they could never make me hate you

She has a lot of empathy towards those that need it. She tries seeing the good in humanity itself, even in the worst of people. She's supportive, cute, and resilient.
