So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)

I swear Vulcans only come in two types and they are “distant xenophobes” or “horny on main for humanity”. Also apparently this guy is Spock’s great-grandfather and frankly that explains everything.
Hey so I looked into this at one point and that handshake literally created a lifelong telepathic bond between the two of them, and basically all of Solkar’s descendants were later obsessed with humans, including freaking SPOCK, so I’m not saying that handshake was so gay and good that it created an intergenerational telepathic bond between Solkar’s descendants and humans, but I’m also not….not….saying that.
The slow deliberation with which Solkar takes Cockrane’s–I’m sorry, Cochrane’s–hand… The sheer sensuality witch which Solkar infuses an otherwise borderline impersonal social ritual… It clearly shows a very conscious knowledge, on Solkar’s part, of what the significance of the handshake is in Vulcan terms and of how affected he is by it.
That’s why he’s so slow in doing it, and so sensual. A part of Solkar can’t believe this is happening, despite it being a perfectly logical thing to expect from a human, and the rest of him can’t believe how good it is.
I bet that if the camera zoomed in any further we would see the dilation of Solkar’s pupils and a quickly-repressed shiver of delight. Cochrane’s firm, businesslike clasp is probably (in sexual terms) being perceived as a deliciously carnal display of dominance.
No wonder Solkar is all like, “TAKE ME, YOU WILD-MANNERED BARBARIAN WITH ENTICINGLY ROUGH CALLUSES.”

I watched the movie "Yossi & Jagger" released in 2002, the film tells about the secret love between two officers.
Captain Yossi leads a company at a snow-covered base, and his platoon commander, nicknamed "Jagger," is his subordinate and secret lover.
Jagger himself, with his facial features, looks very much like Rodney to me at certain points.
This movie is a war drama with a sad ending, but I saw parallels with John and Rodney in the main characters (and because one of them looks like a younger version of McKay). Maybe someday I'll redraw some of the scenes, or after watching this movie, it will inspire someone to write a sad fanfiction about these two, where McKay may not survive, and John will hide his feelings from outsiders, and no one will know what happened between them.
Please forgive me for the obvious spoilers, but overall, I really enjoyed the movie itself.

All the double episodes are counted as one episode.
No episode in round one goes against another episode from the same season.
I have tried to make the pairings as random as possibly whilst making sure that episodes from one season will be as equally matched with episodes from the other seasons as possible.
Because the pairings are random, there will be some painful matchups and great episodes will be lost in the early rounds BUT that’s where the wildcards come in.
In Round 2, 80 episodes will face off with each other.
After all the matchups in Round 1 and Round 2 are done, there will be a Wildcard Tournament 1 with the eliminated 120 episodes to select 4 episodes that go on as wildcards in Round 4.
After Round 2, the first round of Wildcard Tournament 1 will be posted, and then the first half of the matches from Round 3 will be posted after that. The second and final round of Wildcard Tournament 1 will be posted, and then the rest of the matches from Round 3 will be posted.
In Round 3, 40 episodes will face off with each other.
In Round 4, 24 episodes will face off with each other. 20 episodes are from Round 3 and 4 episodes are from Wildcard Tournament 1.
After all the matchups in Round 3 and 4 are done, there will be a Wildcard Tournament 2 with the eliminated 32 episodes to select 4 episodes that go on as wildcards in Round 5. This is the last Wildcard tournament, and there will be no more wildcards in Round 5-8 of the tournament.
In Round 5, 12 episodes are from Round 4 and 4 episodes are from Wildcard Tournament 2.
In Round 5-8, 16 episodes will become one.
The tournament brackets will be updated continuously as the results come in.
If any match result ends up being tied, I will choose the winner :)

i think theres this idea in the general public that the "best" fanfic gets turned into real books like 50 shades of grey. but the truth is that the best fanfic can never be published as an actual book because its intricately woven into the canon material so its inseparable even if you change the names
wearing a shirt that says “even in an au fanfiction, the characters, relationships, or even the scenarios are recognizable in the best fanfic, and an au without ties to the source material may be a fine story but it’s not a good fanfiction” and booty shorts that say “I HATE FUN”
