The Wire | 1x07 One Arrest

I liked Black Sails but there's no way it's The Wire's successor, The Wire made it clear and loud since season one Omar was black and proud and gay. And Black Sails had storylines involved black Carribbeans and the plot wasn't even largely mentioned until later seasons, and not as central focus. I remember in The Wire BST book, actors like Lance Reddick discussed with the creators, they weren't trying to be a "black show" or vice versa. They're trying to be a show telling the story of humanity --- as a result they created multitude in terms of diverse characterisation.

But this is my pet peeves so. It's up to everybody to interpret.

#remember Tom Fontana unapologetically made Beecher and Tim Bayliss openly bisexual for all these seasons so I don't want people to think -#that BS was the first to do something like that or in groundbreaking in that
