Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups of chocolate cookie crumbs. 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted. 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. 1/4 cup of cornstarch. 1/4 teaspoon of salt. 2 3/4 cups of whole milk. 4 large egg yolks. 6 ounces of semisweet chocolate, chopped. 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract. 1 cup of heavy cream. 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar. 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Chocolate shavings for garnish.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F. Melted butter and chocolate cookie crumbs should be combined in a mixing bowl. To make the crust, press this mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. After baking it for about ten minutes in a preheated oven, allow it to cool fully. Mix the cornstarch, salt, and granulated sugar in a medium-sized saucepan. Add the whole milk one tablespoon at a time and whisk until smooth. After putting the saucepan over medium heat, cook it while stirring all the time until the mixture thickens and boils. This ought to take ten to fifteen minutes. Egg yolks should be beaten in a different bowl. One cup of the heated milk mixture should be gradually whisked into the beaten egg yolks. Next, return the egg yolk mixture and the remaining milk mixture to the saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, for an additional two minutes.
