at the end of the day you need to believe that you are more than the things you’ve suffered through because if you don’t you’ll start seeing yourself as someone fundamentally broken whose life is hopeless. you need to claw your way out of a rut by believing there is hope for you and that life is worth living, even when its hard to make sense of all the suffocating chaos around us. don’t let yourself forget there is still beauty out there and joy to be felt, even when you are in pain, even when you wish life could be fairer and gentler. because that’s when you realize that the little things you do to make yourself and others feel a bit better can make quite a difference after all

it's funny how the paradox of being a patient means not wanting treatment is just more of an excuse to force it on you. wanting treatment, on the other hand, means you're not sick or less sick, so you have the honor of being either handed nothing even when enthusiastically asking for help or being placed on a waitlist. Wanting something or withdrawing consent only ever gives mental health professionals an excuse to do the opposite of what you're asking for. Or, there's always the third option: where they disagree with you on the treatment you need so you end up being coerced into taking medications or undergoing treatments that are unwanted or don't work for you---because the symptoms that are actively affecting your every day life are not seen as the problem and some other thing is zeroed in on, due to the arbitrary hierarchy of severity through which mental health professionals view psych DXes.

You ever think about how cops and prison guards and psych ward nurses are allowed to just. Forcibly make minors strip for them? And nobody even care? Lol

also good to note that when someone walks into a room or moves suddenly or makes a noise it’s a normal reaction for people to look over! it doesn’t mean you did anything wrong or are being weird if everyone looks over at you, it’s just curious animal brain :]

wish there was an easy and normal way to say “I’m not as sane as you probably assume i am, and when you can see it, will you still try to love me?”

just in case this spreads: i literally mean “not sane” here. I’m not joking about how goofy i am. I mean i have behaviors and symptoms and histories that most people don’t- and ones that have been considered insane. Will you still love me when i tell you I hear things sometimes? Will you still love me when you know I’ve attempted suicide multiple times? Will you still love me when I obsess over things and break down often and can’t promise you i can always be happy?
