after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines

Because as an audience you're introduced to it as a foregone conclusion (beyond knowing the history itself of course), but also that you see the crew of the ship kind of scoffing at and dismissing the emotion of it. So it gives the audience a signal of like... I know this is stupid and soppy, but come with us on this. I acknowledge this is to be scoffed at, here is a character scoffing at it, but let's see what happens.
