Me watching the season finale:

And I don't think the change to the title Queen of the Damned means Lestat's story 100% means that his story got fully shafted. There is overlap between TVL and QotD with the concert stuff.

But let's be real -- they didn't go into Armand and Lestat and what was going on there at all in Season 3. They didn't address the trial or revisit Murder Night, or anything else we've been waiting for since Seasons 1 and 2.

And with Hannah as showrunner now, there is zero guarantee that all that will ever get addressed, examined, or revisited. With Rolin still being showrunner, I did have the belief it would.

Now? I just don't.

Nothing I've seen out of Hannah's writing during the finale, or her interviews afterwards, told me she has any interest in doing those things with the story. Nothing she has said has told me she understands Lestat, Louis, or Armand as the characters they actually are within the story. (And she has rarely even spoken about Daniel, so who even knows there. 🤷🏾‍♀️)

So yeah, as nice as it is to have the show renewed, it's now just going to be a different show. That can never be helped when it comes to a showrunner switch. And nothing I've seen or heard from Hannah so far makes me confident about the direction the show will be going because of that.

So I think her handling of Armand and Daniel's characters, first and foremost, will be where any fuck ups come from.

And, at the moment, I have zero reason to think she won't.

Because one, has anyone really heard her speak about Daniel? About his character or anything? Because I really haven't. So who even knows, at the moment, what she thinks about him?

But Armand. Oh lord, You'd think her clearly being a fan of him would make me happy, but it doesn't.

Because being a fan of Armand doesn't mean she actually gets him as a character. And everything she's said about him post-Season 3 gives me that belief. Because the very idea that Louis owed Armand an apology is seeing his character through the fanon-wooby lens I absolutely loathe. That the atrocities done to him before and even for a time after he became a vampire somehow makes the horrible shit Armand himself did to other people okay.

No, Hannah, it doesn't.

And the most hypocritical thing about it is that she uses that excuse for Armand but not for any other characters, including Lestat and Louis.

When it comes to shipping, I do not ever ship a couple just because I like one character and just want them to be "happy" or whatever. I have to individually love both characters in a ship, or I don't care about the ship at all.

For example, I knew -- after reading Chamber of Secrets -- that Harry Potter was going to end up with Ginny Weasley one day. I knew it was coming, and so, while I loved Harry's character, I kept waiting book after book to also grow to love Ginny as a character, too, and maybe ship them together.

But I never did. And so, I never shipped Harry and Ginny, even though, yes, they ended up together, as I knew they would.

In contrast, I love both Daniel and Armand's characters individually. Love them both so much, and together I think they are incredible and fit each other so much and so well because of who they are individually.

But right now, I am sitting in a place with all of this where I don't have the first clue what Hannah thinks about Daniel as a character, and what she says and thinks about Armand is a version of him, based on fandom, that I utterly hate, because of its hypocrisy.

So no, I'm not excited about Devil's Minion being in her hands now, even with her having co-written my favorite episode of the whole series, EP205, that had such a wonderful beginning for Armand and Daniel's relationship together in the show's universe.
