Was screwing around doodling a bit the other day.

why is being on pace so important for every study program? why do they care about complicated assignments and scores and deadlines and limited amount of attempts? if you display skill they should let you pass no?

Hi all! I'm making this blog because recently I remembered a series I followed religiously back during the pandemic, but when I went to find it, I discovered that all traces of it had been wiped from the internet. I was pretty heartbroken because it was a core part of my pandemic experience and I really wanted to revisit it, but luckily the lost media community is a lot bigger now than what it was back then, and I stand a pretty good chance of finding it now.

Bread and Circuses was a mixed-media weirdcore/dreamcore series which focused on Ikimono Amygdala, the puppeteer for a strange circus secluded deep in the woods, as she tried to help her and her friends escape the clutches of the circus' ringmaster, Dr. Sunshine. The series dealt with topics of isolation, gender, and medical horror, and the intersections of those themes in the experiences of the characters. BaC started off with shortform videos, but eventually expanded into standalone static art pieces, written works, and longer videos that incorporated rpg and audience choice elements. As the series expanded, a solid main cast and rich ensamble filled the circus, as well as a unique take on worldbuilding uncommon within the weirdcore space at the time.

This blog will document my search for the series. I dread to think of how much is out there to find, because she had a pinterest and tiktok account, but possibly may have had accounts on tumblr and instagram, and she mentioned developing a tie-in roblox game at some point, though whether she ever posted it I don't know. The series was active between 2020 and either 2021 or 2022, at which point the series abruptly stopped, and sometime between then and now wendiesdoodles deleted her entire online presence. All I have left are some screenshots, memes, fic, essays, and fanart sourced from myself and my friends. I'm sure given the fact that I was a young teen at the time that I made them, they won't be the most helpful for finding the series, but I'll post them here in the hopes they give some leads for people on the hunt.

Submissions for found media relating to Bread and Circuses or the whereabouts of wendiesdoodles are greatly appreciated! Fan works are also kindly welcomed as they can give a much better view of the series itself for others who may not have been around to see it when it was online.

The way basic chord progressions and musical styles have become copyrightable thanks to various lawsuits by the Marvin Gaye estate

The fact that the artists of the past used to be able to remix; adapt and iterate on art made within 56 years of them, likely created in their lifetimes, and now artists can only do those things with art produced nearly a century ago by people long dead.

New and independent artists being crowded out of the market by megacorp-owned IPs that would be public domain (and thusly convey less of an overwhelming advantage-via-marquee-value to megacorps) if the US had its pre-1976 copyright laws.
