7/10. it was a sweet ending and the whole "they're just sentient copies of their real selves" shit is so fucking mind melting in the best ways like, it's so WEIRD i love it so much
and gosh, Jax... she has my whole heart. i love her so much and i hope she gets to live her best girl life in the circus and in real life <333 (AND RAHHHH THE I SAW THE TV GLOW REFERENCE WAS SO DELICIOUS)
but also i think it was a little anticlimactic? i mean, i don't really know what i was expecting but (and again this is just my opinion) i feel like Caine came back too quickly. (and im also just not a fan of voiceover endings where everything's okay and happily ever after (which again, my opinion))
idk i think i just wanted something a little more epic like them having to go find him and pull him out of the trash bin and then a bit of a more emotional moment (tho i think i maybe just read too many comics and fanfics lol)
but overall i think it was pretty good :3 i will be obsessing over Jax for the next month or so

not going to say direct spoilers for the tadc finale but wow did you guys know that something can be "confirmed" without it being explicitly said because the writer(s) expected the audience to have media literacy? like, for example, if a character is overly hungry and tired when their blood sugar is low and hides an insulin pump under long sleeves, but they don't ever look to the camera and say "i have diabetes," we can still put the very simple pieces together and say "okay, so they canonically have diabetes and don't want to admit it." and yet some of y'all look at these kinds of scenes and are like. well they didn't say it so it's not canon. y'all be looking at this kinds of puzzles and start crying bc it's too hard for you
Jax says that he admitted "something" to his gender-roles-projecting mother that made her laugh at him, then berate him, then hug him. Ribbit (who I believe is canonically she/they) then puts a hairbow on him, a character who heavily relies on cartoon stereotypes as a coping mechanism, and says his "secret is safe with her." When approached by a male friend, Jax throws the hairbow to the ground, begins to panic, and threatens Ribbit to "never tell anyone," then cuts her out of his life out of fear and repression. In his mindscape he refers to wearing the maid dress as "getting freaky with gender." Pomni finds his consciousness under a pink-lit lamppost and they play a montage of his previous scenes to the song "Isn't She Lovely?" At least two scenes in said episode reference the film I Saw the TV Glow, a movie that is very clearly a metaphor for being a repressed transfem.
Combined with all the previous episodes' hints, this is a two-piece puzzle. Jax is transfem and terrified to admit it. Just because s/he was not brave enough to say it aloud and Pomni/Caine did not out them to the other characters does not mean it's not canon. Jax's human self is 22 and still figuring themself out, and is shown with longer hair, alt clothes, and going to Zooble's (heavily implied) queer bar. The creator of this show is a trans woman. This is not something that's hard to figure out.
With people not getting it despite it being spelled out with fucking alphabet soup. If i was glitch/goose i would make only one (1) change to the episode when it drops online in two weeks, where during the human!Jax/Leroy Mateo montage we get an extra line at the end akin to "She's got time to figure herself out." Just drop it right there, if you've been paying attention it won't shock you, adds to the hope that scene is supposed to give, shuts up the people who say "well they didn't turn to the camera and say it so it's not canon."
the FUNNY answer is i would just post a picture of the abstraction in front of a trans flag with the caption "this is what the ideal woman looks like"
