They are users without safe use public spaces and I'm fucking begging you all to understand that people being mentally ill and doing things you don't like to cope is not the same exact thing as them choosing to harm other people.

they animated this thing exactly as i used to dream they would back when i first read the og manga

so the thing that super bummed me out when I finished reading the manga and then started on the future volumes, was seeing that Masamune Shirow (not their real name lol) had moved away from the fun expressive human designs of the original and began drawing more and more like the movie’s more “realistic” style

I understand why he would do so considering how HUGE the first movie was and how people probably couldn’t even recognize his original characters as the same ones from the films, but still :(

In a world where almost all manga's art styles have started looking indistinguishable from each other, and animes seem to blur together with triangle mouths and extreme close ups on giant shimmering eyes in order to convey emotions (cheap to animate yay!), anything that goes the extra mile is to be treasured. So bless Science Saru for not just bringing Masamune Shirow's og style to life but also fucking going the extra mile and exaggerating it even more!
