the fact that Batwoman's introduction is filtered through the lens of Renee thinking she's hot will never not be funny to me
i've been thinking and, like. one of the reasons dick and tim mesh so well is that their possessiveness matches. not in a way that they're both possessive of each other (which they are) but in that possessiveness comes out. tim loves referring to himself as "dick's brother" and mark himself in relation to dick because he loves the reminder that he is someone to dick, that he is loved by dick; and dick loves when tim emphasizes his relation to dick because "dick's brother" means tim is his brother, claimed and wanted and proud of it, while also leaving him free of the ownership and control of being someone's, of being caged like so many have wanted to.
like! tim loves being marked as dick's. and dick loves tim marking himself as dick's. both take it as a sign of love from each other. their weirdness with each other only puts emphasis in this and reinforces it. they match so well it's insane. i love them
he likes to look good for every occasion

I just learned that Chris Kent was/is a thing, and I had an idea… Let me know if you can guess which villain I’m thinking of pairing him with, and if you think that’s a good idea. Also, thoughts on the outfit? I’m really trying to make something work here, but I’m still polishing the concept.

I know I mentioned a DickTim ~marriage of convenience in the time of BruceQuest before as a way to secure WE from Ra's or anyone else getting their grubby paws on it?
But I kind of love the idea of the same? But with Tim and Dick getting blindsided by the marriage of convenience bit?
Tim, stretched thin by current crisis of racing back to Gotham probably not sleeping well. Plotting and scheming on the run - making sure he's assigned various people Ra's and his people are targeting someone to protect them, meeting with Lucius for WE reasons, among other things and he just.
Misses a line or two of fine print while signing paperwork? Because of course he trusts Lucius, and maybe Lucius assumes Tim read whole whatevers, or, he, too somehow missed the fine print?
there’s a decent amount of talk surrounding the idea that comics, as we know them, are not a particularly good medium for telling cohesive stories. There will be retcons, there will be disagreeing authors and artists, and even the most lovingly crafted and well thought out run will eventually be undercut by something that comes after it, and will likely be undercutting something before it. This is just a fact of the medium, but honestly, it’s one of the things I love about it- because with this contradiction, with it’s indecisiveness, what we end up when a character has been being written for long enough is a portrait that’s… kind of closer to a person, in imitation, than a lot of other mediums can get to? A comic character’s lifespan can include so many small events and conflicting stories and different arcs and hangups, in way that’s very hard to achieve for a character from a play, a movie, even a standalone graphic novel. It’s a level of detail and layeredness that mimics how a person exists. Lives aren’t contained within a single narrative. They’re different people at different times, they have more experiences than any one person could know about. It’s… I don’t know. It’s just one of my favorite things about the genre

My little baby slobo
I will always feel maternal for him(I’m 17 mind u lolll)💔
Ranking Random Tim and Dick Brotherisms:
4.) The tag-teaming quips.
The top-tier tag team quippers. Legitimately these are only a few. If Dick and Tim are on the page together any time from like 1992-2006, they are spitting.
3.) Gassing Tim up because lord knows the boy won’t do it himself.
That’s right Dick. You tell him he’s perfect. (Lowkey I think there’s a lot of focus on the hero worship Tim shows to Dick, and that’s very present, but Dick glazes Tim at every given opportunity too. He just wants Tim to feel secure and confident in himself. It’s adorable.)
2.) Mutual dumbass-ery. It turns out if you combine two of some of the smartest people on the eastern seaboard, the brain cells short out or something.
Brother stop showing off your glutes and TURN THE OTHER LEFT. But also, stop screaming Tim??? There are people??? Guards??? You disasters?????
1.) Comfort Mode Engaged™️
The “buddy”. The sitting on top of the Batmobile. The “no thanks 🥺”. My heart.
The robins (can you tell which is which?)
this is the thing I was talking about where people are playing with their cats the way that cats play with eachother lmao
HE KILLED HIM
One of the most frustrating things about how fandom tends to talk about Steph is that it actively gets in the way of discussing feminist issues in the industry.
You can't discuss the deep-set, systematic problems with both the art and the writing of War Games if you treat the entire storyline as an intentional hit piece against one single character. You can't discuss the reality of Chuck Dixon's sexism and racism if you can't acknowledge that those things fed into the paternalism and benevolence he often showed Steph. You can't even recognize all the various -isms baked into Brian Q Miller's work on Batgirl '09 if the only thing you care about when reading it is that Stephie-poo is getting glazed as a ~badass girlboss~.
Hell, you can't discuss the nuances of Steph herself, as a character, if you cry "sexism! it doesn't count!!' any time that discussion involves one of her mistakes or flaws. If she can't be shaded in, she'll only ever be two-dimensional.
And that sucks.
