This is something you may see on hot days - this Blue Jay is not injured, it is taking a sunbath. It is done for skin care and grooming and helps with parasites. I always love seeing it because it feels like they have to feel perfectly safe when they do it.
I recently saw this with a Stellar's Jay (the same bird pictured here) and it initially had me worried it was sick or injured! Very relieving to learn about this interesting behavior.

#I am not a comic artist#but I had a similar problem when I was in film school#I call it “the door problem”#in my thesis film I had written that two characters walk out the back of the club into the alley behind the club#and my club location did not have a back alley but did have a side room that we used as the door#but that door opened in#and the location I used for the alley had a back door but that door opened outwards#and I knew it looked weird#I struggled framing the shots#and blocking the actors#and I got really really caught in my own head about how to make this door work#because to me it was really important that you saw every step from club to outside#because even though we had learned in school that you could transition it didn't feel right because it didn't feel like a new scene to me#(this being one of the struggles with a short film. It can all feel like one scene if your script is short!)#AND THEN#when we got into the editing room we just...cut the door transition entirely#initially not on purpose#what happened was that we decided to tighten up the timing by cutting non-linearly to the custom music I had commissioned#which made it much more experimental especially in comparison to my fellow classmates#however it showed me that the story still absolutely worked without needing to show how they got into the alley#the audience can infer the door#so now anytime I can feel myself getting stuck on something when I'm filming I think#“Is this a Door Problem?”#as a storyteller it's always a question of what is the absolute bare minimum you need to convey what you're trying to say#and sometimes that means you just need to already be outside the club

No lie, I want Babs and Tim to have parallel limited solos around the theme of being "Cyber Sleuths" (thanks Digimon for that term).
Babs going back to her Oracle times with Tim on a similar route but he does more field work as a contrast between the two.
Well that and also for them to have totally different vibes in their books so people can see that "hacking" doesn't always have to be shown the same. Not even as a team up. Two separate solos that are stylized to hell that just so happen to cross the "cyber detective" stuff
Babs as a way more gnarly look. Very 90s anime like Lain where we see her coding. Everything is darker and grittier when it comes to color pallettes. The shadows are harsh and all encompassing. The light source always and artifical blue or green with little natural light happening in the books. Make her looks greasy. Make her look sickly. Have it be very clear she's neglecting herself for her work because it gives her a sense of control and the high of power. Looks very very old school hacker cave aesthetic. It's less "look at all this cool tech" and more "I created these monstrosities with my bare hands" a mess of wires. She would gut technology on panel and it would very much be portrayed as digging into a person and cutting them up for parts. Never shying away from more grotesque imagery. Hardware and software.
Meanwhile Tim would be closer to later Digimon in terms of aesthetics. Much more vibrant and way brighter with the whites. 2010s anime Internet compared to Babs' 90s and early 00s anime Internet. Almost entirely software despite being part field agent. If there's "hacker battles" it's shown a la anime with imagine scenes which are cool and flashy fightscenes juxtaposed with the reality of it just being two nerds on their laptops typing away. His tech is always the latest stuff and not Frankensteined together like Babs, but his won't have the range of capabilities hers does.
Babs is grunge and grime while Tim's is modern sleek.
I can see an end of arc/solo thing being where there's an alien invasion that just cripples all the tech on Earth that they could use against it. All of Barbara's power gone in an instant, all the work and control she sacrificed for gone. But she picks herself up again.
She has to leave her cave and has to wheel herself during a very action filled chase sequence with just an old laptop she built herself and one bag full of computer guts until she's on the ship. Any and all modifications on her wheelhair slowly being chipped away and torn off in the struggle until she flies (in her chair!) and crashes onto the ship someone else had been able to open the door of.
She has to metal gear solid her way until she's in a room with what she thinks are computers, and despite not knowing anything of their tech, despite them not being made to be compatible. Despite not being able to interface in any way with how alien it is. The entire sequence is her trying to see what she knows and then going "Fuck it!" and goes full anime with pulling apart wires and tying things she doesn't understand together and using things like duct tape (since it fit in her bag) to basically Heart of the Cards (Heart of the Computer lol) it to something she can use.
She's able to macgyver together the system and her system into this mechanical disaster to hack into it and start helping turn the tide.
there will never be anything as funny as the mutual disbelief between long form and short form fic writers about each other's style.
short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.
meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.
