dont get me wrong this is #mood but just try eating a piece of bread with salt. please, seriously. ok? at least a tiny bit. salt helps with nausea, bread calms the stomach acid. if you really canāt face eating anything, just lick some salt like a damn elk, then wait and see if you can manage the bread. make some broth if youāre into that kind of thing. no spices, yes salt. if youāre feeling too weak and shaky to do much, just have a cup of tea with sugar (energy) and lemon (again, good against nausea). nibble on the lemon first, it will feel good, but donāt overdo - citric acid on an empty stomach is a majorly bad idea. take care of yourself, youāre the only you weāve got

My dad has always had me do this, especially when I was little and kept the baby up. We would go into the back yard, point to the river (to keep the ship captains up at night) and scream. I was also told to jump up and down toĀ āget all the scream outāĀ
I did this in college too. Thereās nothing more cathartic than climbing the fence of the fishing pier, running to the end of it and screaming into the wind. Itās powerful, itās therapeutic, itās feral and wonderful.Ā
I did this with kids too, when they have too much energy. When I worked at a childrenās camp and the kids had too much energy when the rain canceled pool time I took them out in the rain, made them jump up and down and scream, and then 15 some nine-year-olds and I would rance across the field screaming in the rain

Yāall always have to wallow in your misery instead of considering maybe, just maybe, the encouragement people like this give is just telling people to do one, easy thing instead of worrying about a whole routine. Canāt make yourself shower? Thatās fine, just brush your teeth. Donāt have the energy to do your hair? Okay, just brush your teeth.
Making 1 small change that can start improving your mood leads to other small changes. When I couldnāt make myself shower I would make sure I changed underwear every day. And then I started using baby wipes to keep myself fresh. And then I worked my way back to trying to take showers every day. My record might not be perfect but Iām getting better.
Itās really unhealthy to keep the mindset that anyone who isnāt miserable and suffering under their mental illness or emotional problems doesnāt know what theyāre talking about. Maybe theyāve just grown to learn how to love and care for themselves in spite of what theyāre going through.
I donāt know what any of you people think professional help looks like, but when you walk in and say āiām too depressed to do anythingā they donāt just nod and say āwell youāre broken forever i guessā. they donāt say āhere take this pill and itāll fix everythingā. they work with you one step at a time and explain to you that you CAN in fact do simple things even though youāre depressed. it isnāt easy, but itās not impossible, it just happens in small steps, but it isnāt getting any easier when you react to every instance of someone trying to help by refusing to listen.

never make a suicide joke again. yes this includesĀ āi wanna dieā as a figure of speech. swear off of it. actually make an effort to change how you think about things.
find something to compliment someone for at least 4 times a day. notice the little things about the world that make you happy, and use that to make other people happy.
talk to people. initiate conversation as often as you possibly can. keep your mind busy and you wont have to worry anymore
picture the bad intrusive thoughts in youe head as an edgy 13 year old and tell them to go be emo somewhere else
if someone makes you feel bad most of the time, stop talking to them. making yourself hang out with people who drain you is self harm. stop it.

Thatās some pretty good advice. I donāt know whatās left of my humor after āguess Iāll just dieā jokes but itās worth a shot.
Personally i went from āguess Iāll dieā jokes to āIF I HAVE TO BE HERE FOR 5 MORE MINUTES I PROMISE YOU I WILL BUY JUST, AN ARRAY OF CLOTHES.ā and other wild hyperbolic stuff. Just replace the death part with something ridiculous and off topic. Its very entertaining
This also works with calling myself things like stupid, worthless, trash, etc. Even if you do this jokingly to yourself, your brain still believes it, and keeps up the cycle. Seriously, I found that when I stopped saying these things about myself, even jokingly, it made a massiveĀ difference.
Hereās a tip I picked up from a friend thatās helped me a lot ā replace self deprecating jokes with ironically self aggrandizing jokes
Like every time I trip and fall, instead of saying ālām just a disaster humanā I say āIām the epitome of grace and beautyā
Or like, when I draw a picture Iām not 100% happy with, instead of saying āmy art is trashā I say something like āyou know I think itās time we replaced the Mona Lisaā
When you do that you get to make a joke, but youāre ALSO getting practice building yourself up, yāknow?
And eventually it becomes a reflex and you get so used to it that you can say nice stuff about yourself even when you ARENāT joking

I find myself using āI am unableā or āI am no longer ableā, instead of the casual āI canātā, a lot lately. Itās not an attempt to sound more fancy or formal or anything, itās just; āI canātā is constantly met with āYes you can, you just have to try harderā, from people who donāt know fucking shit about how hard you are trying. Using āI am unableā instead feels like itās a lot better at conveying how this is an objective fact, the reality of which is absolutely undisputable. People may think it appropriate at this time to ask āwhy?ā, āhow come?ā (itās not), but they are much less likely to refute my statement.
A great way to use those awful social conventions to set a firm boundary, and another tool in your toolkit of Dealing With Ableists.
