Guillermo has grown himself a sturdier spine every season and sure that can be explained by him finding out he's a slayer but personally I like to think that it's also due to the presence of the cameras. Like he used to be the only human in a house full of vampires who couldn't give less of a shit about him but then suddenly he's sat down and asked to speak his mind to an unseen audience whose reactions and sympathies he can imagine and suddenly he has an untold number of supporters and begins to assert himself while clearly thinking "yeah finally common sense gets its comeuppance" but of course he doesn't realise that he's actually just as insane as any of the others he just knows how modern society works so while he's under the impression that he's the lone warrior standing up for sanity in fact what we get to see is him going from passive derangement to active insanity and I think that's beautiful
