Look I used to work with tow truck guys and they do not give a fuck. One time the Air Force was doing a recruiting stunt and they decided to bring a plane as like…a prop? I dunno and they parked it in a 20 minute loading zone and 21 minutes later my coworkers IMPOUNDED THE PLANE.

if you have a job it's funny and relatable and cool to stay in the closet, and maybe kind of cringe to come out. don't come out at work.

you don't have to medically transition and it's kind of cool and edgy and more radical anyway if you don't. don't take hormones, don't pursue surgery, don't pursue electrolysis, don't assert bodily autonomy

you don't have to socially transition, you don't owe anyone a performance. don't change your behavior, don't act different, keep doing what's expected, be normal

you don't have to use new pronouns or a new name or even tell anyone. if you're in the closet, stay in the closet.

the first therapist i really opened up to about gender identity i specifically chose because they were also nonbinary (though, tme). and as soon as i started discussing how i felt nervous about wanting to present more femininely, and how i was considering a medical transition, they repeatedly assured me: "you don't owe anyone androgyny!!!" and how you didn't need to medically transition to be valid as a trans person. after all, they didn't!

and transition was really stressful, huh, which might exacerbate my anxiety. y'know, the "main" reason i was in therapy anyways.

this, among similar experiences, set me back years.

I love fantasy worlds that decide to be quirky by replicating modern tech with magic in an extremely direct way. Like everyone logs onto the Visionstream on their magic orb or some shit and posts fanfic and plays a game with friends there. Their Crystals sing in their pockets so they pull them out to read the Sending from their parents which is a message that just reads "be home by ten" with an emoji at the end. They get in a Carriage that is literally a magic-powered car and go to meet their friends at fuckin. Fantasy Starbucks. Where pumpkin spice lattes have just come back for the season. I can never get enough of it it's funny every time.
